That's not in the video that MS has uploaded.

Looks lovely! Hmm wonder whether to let the One S do all the 4K video upscalling by leaving it at 1080p (and "Allow 4K" ticked) or let the TV do it if it's a fairly newish model (Samsung JS9500 here).

So theres two possibilities

1. GAME altered the line for some reason

2. MS altered the line to be ballsy
I'm putting my money on GAME altering the video. The line in the GAME video is not only different from the video that MS uploaded. The manner in which it's shown compared to the rest of the lines in the same video is also different, each line has an intro/background with a bright green outline of the Xbox's "X" fading quickly except for the "puts the current PS4 to shame" line.

If MS altered it, they'd have used the same styling as they've got access to the source material used to create the video. GAME doesn't have access to that so they can't perfectly recreate that part.

As for why? I've got no clue.

Good eye for detail, wonder why GAME would put that if it is them, maybe they think it would sell more?

But the Gears console is ugly as shit, I'd like a black Xbox One S with GOW4 bundled, nothing more, nothing less.

The HDMI cable that comes with the S is 4K compatible, ya?

All HDMI cables are 4K compatible aren't they?

I mean I'm using the same HDMI cable now between my 1070 and my 4K TV that I used between my launch PS3 and HDTV in 2007 and it works perfectly fine.

Congrats. I just checked in near by stores for fun and none had it, not even a displaybox, nothing.
Thanks :) jeah it was kind of weird that a big company in our land stated on their site buy before 10 and receive it the next day. All other stores list aug 2 and even after calling they confirmed it would be there a day later

After setup you have 1.6tb to install games etc.

Ps4 front: 28.3 cm
Xbox one s front: 30.4 cm

Xbox one s side 23.3 cm
Ps4 side: 28.2cm

Thanks for doing the measurements. I was quite close with my guess for Xbox One S though the PS4 seems different to the official measurements!? ( 27.5 front X 30.5 side X 5.3 high) though the side is awkward to measure because of the off-set slope.

The offset slope still takes up space on both sides ;)

Just measured my PS4 and I come at ~30.3 depth x ~27.6 width x ~5.4 height, each of the slopes add about 3cm to the size.

It can always happen that the measurments I did are a little bit off.

The xbox one S seems to stay quit. Though I havent tested a game yet... faster too but that I cant meassure except with my own eyes..

According to the guy that did the unboxing in the OP, he got his 4K TV today but no option for 4K on the S. He thinks he has to wait for the summer update on August 2nd.

That was my point with the slope! It is awkward because you have to guess where the PS4 ends no matter which end you start the measurement from. If you measure just the top or bottom 'tier' you get a lower figure.

So about the picture.. What are the Neogaf rules for posting game website urls? Dont want to get banned or anything..

You mean linking to your picture on another forum? I think that would be fine but why not just post the photo in a post here if you already uploaded it to a image host?

If those dimensions are correct for the PS4 and XB1S, then the XB1S is bigger than the PS4 in actual cubicle volume by around 20-10% depending on which set of PS4 measurement numbers I use.

Ps4:
30.3 depth x 27.6 width x ~5.4 height.
30.3 x 27.6 x 5.4 = 4516 cubic cm

Or

28.3 depth x 28.2 with x 5.1 height
28.3 x 28.2 x 5.1 = 4070 cubic cm

XB1s:
23.3 depth x 30.4 with x 7 height.
23.3 x 30.4 x 7 = 4958 cubic cm

It's profile should actually be smaller length and with wise, however, the extra height, which is probably there so they can keep a nice quiet cooling fan on it, makes it slightly larger than the PS4 in volume.

Some of the stuff posted by those that have one early is funny:

have a friend that manages a gamestop. I can't actually plug it in or turn it on yet because he said they can track it and see where I bought it from and gamestop could get into trouble.

Microsoft hacked the electrical grid!

Well, MS could track what serial #'s were shipped to what retailer, assuming they ship directly instead of through a warehouse. No real reason to do so, since the goal is to sell the darned things after all.

Hehe sorry. Did a quick Google search.

Now that I know that you live in the same country as I do, I'm even more curious where you managed to get yours.

Well it is not like it isn't a big secret. I would send you a PM since it is quite a big store so it really is there own fault :)

Oh...didn't know you were a writer for a game website. If you have a watt meter getting some power consumption figures would be nice. One fat vs One S.

Small game website yes, so it is funny that since we ofcourse do not get review copies, we aren't really bound to any streetdates and can get the stuff out and give awnser to anyone who has questions.
I do not have a watt meter though, to be fair I would not even know how those things look :")

One video is for NA. Two quotes in it, one from The Verge, one from SPACE.

The other video is for Europe. Two different quotes, one from Trusted Reviews, and this one - from Pocket-Lint. Full quote: "There's no doubt in our minds that the Xbox One S will be a highly desirable console come Christmas, even putting the current PS4 to shame with its 4K HDR video capabilities and HDR gaming."

Different quotes for different regions. And all quotes have the same font/color/style across both videos.

You mean faster when navigating the OS ?

This could also be the fact that you started a completely fresh (factory reset) system.

Haha no sorry, very sure I don't have one of those laying around.
The OS seems the same as the old Xbox One btw, so a update is needed on launch I think

edit: ^ yes navigating etc. And I thought about that too that it is completely fresh. Just tried a game and I still cannot hear it but this needs some more time testing. In comparison my PS4 always sounds like a jet engine.

Haha I've got the same problem. I've got a power meter but no console to use it on.

IThe console doesn't come with the anniversary update. Would be strange if it did considering that there were new versions rolled out to the preview group.

Thats great news.

Sound comparisons are always hard because everything perceives sound differently and also there are systems with different sound levels out there (old ones, new ones, dusted ones ....)

But I was kind of sure the MS would not release a system which is louder than the old one, when they did got their good feedback about this fact :)
