I've never played a Dragon Quest game before so I'm not sure if adding DQVIII to my cart to push me over $100 is a good idea. Is is good for a beginner? Or should I go for VII instead?

Go for VIII. DQVII is for DQ purists that love class changes, etc. So far alot of GAF DQ newbies regret purchasing this game as the starting point. I say start with VIII and after you like it maybe give VII a try. I love VII, but I'm a DQ fanboy.

Thanks for the heads up. I used this last time to pre order Mass Effect and Horizon. This time I got:

Instant Pot - 25% off with this deal (just added a $5 mixer for my soda stream to get over 100)

2nd run - Zelda Wii U and Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition (with GCU both add up to $90). Insane deal!

Great deal. Too bad I've ordered everything i wanted last time this happened and decided to not get the switch at launch anymore. If only Yakuza kiwami and 6 was on preorder

This is very tempting. I'm planning on upgrading my PC later this year to either Skylake or Kabylake. I could save myself some money by taking advantage of this. Must resist...

Can you use the Best Buy card in Visa checkout?

Hmph, the GCU I bought this morning still hasn't applied to my account.

Same, called them and they said to just place an order and call them back once GCU gets attached to the account for a refund of the price difference.

Ok I've officially run out of games to preorder:

For Switch:

Mario Odyssey
Skyrim
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Xenoblade 2
Splatoon 2
ARMS
1 2 Switch
All 5 BotW Amiibo

For PS4:

Kingdom Hearts 1/2
Kingdom Hearts 3
Rime
Red Dead Redemption 2
God of War 4
Yooka Laylee
Final Fantasy XII
Final Fantasy 7 Remake

For 3DS:

Dragon Quest VIII
Mario Sports Megamix

And 3 non-preorders:

Resident Evil 5 (PS4)
Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS)
And $20 worth of $5 Best Buy cards

All for $701.39, that's an average of $36 or so per NEW game. Pretty awesome.

Struggling with what else to get besides Mass Effect Andromeda on PC. I want Gravity Rush 2 but I feel like it will drop in price pretty quickly.

I already got Spiderman, Horizon, Red Dead 2, and Nier last time this promo happened.

Ha, cool. I signed up for GCU with the whole pending Switch thing and between these two, I got Zelda, the Archer Link amiibo, and Mario Kart pre-ordered for less than $90. Well worth the $30 investment.

OK, I think I have to get in on this...

This should definitely be taken advantage of due to the Nintendo tax right? The Nintendo games aren't going to drop even under $50 that much.

Yes, you can always cancel or return the games so unless you are really short on money it's hard to say no to Nintendo games at $36 with GCU before tax at launch. It's a pretty crazy deal. Did it pretty much for any game I would be interested in. On the other hand I only pre-ordered PS4 games that I was interested in to play near release.

This is a good plan. I was thinking about skipping this and hoping the deal comes back around this time next year or in the later half of this year...

I primarily want to use this for Switch games, but also getting Horizon at launch for much cheaper. But, I gotta be responsible and work on this back log.

o_O and I thought my 8 was pushing it lol. Just FYI, if you happen to decide to return any of those games, it will negate the discount for the other game in that order

Any idea when the deal ends?

Someone said the 21st earlier. But, the previous one ended sooner than they originally said, presumably because it was fucked and letting people use it as much as they wanted even though it was supposed to be limited to one use. Here it is again, once again saying it's limited to one use, but working over and over. So, who knows.

just bought 2x digimon world next order (me and a friend) and the fate game for a friend which meant they paid $90 for their game and since i let them use the gcu discount and i had some certificates, i paid $17 for digimon world Next Order ... I love BB.

Since I took off my zelda special edition preorder last night.. I don't see anything worth buying over $100 on the switch.

The only two games I want are zelda and mario kart, but mario kart I want digital.

All the other games I want are released in the holidays, and I just don't want to bother preordering that fucking early.

Oh I know, but all of those games seem like pretty safe bets to be good. Maybe not ARMS or 1 2 Switch but I'm gonna need some Switch games to play after I'm done with Zelda.

Also, some of those games might not even come out within the next year so it's not like I'm spending all this money at once.

So I got
Yakuza 0
Horizon
Mass Effect

and also
Persona 5 CE
South Park Fracture (includes Stick of Truth)

so 5-6 games for $190. Not bad, thank for the heads up guys.

This is wild.

Got Nier and REVII...thinking about placing a second order for Splatoon 2 and ARMS.

And if I do a third for Mario Odyysey and Prey, that just about covers all the upcoming games I'm interested in. Not bad! Prey seems like a risky proposition, however...

How does this deal make business sense for Visa or Best Buy?

Visa pays BB back I believe, in the hope that they make more money because people are using their credit cards more.

I just ordered the GCU to combine with the Visa checkout. Do I have to activate something, or does it atomically register to my account at some point?

It applies to the same order, but bestbuy online is pretty shitty with activating GCU in a short time. Took them a week to activate mine. If you search online you'll have a lot of people complaining about it.

Any way I can expedite it? I'd like to use it the GCU soon with the Visa Checkout.
