Xbox World are claiming to have the inside scoop on the game.

  • RE6 was first shown at TGS2011
  • Leon's Tall Oaks campaign has a castle in it
  • Has it been mentioned the director is Eiichiro Sasaki who did File 1 and File 2?
  • Leon faces zombies whilst Chris faces Las Plagas type enemies
  • They also say the girl is Ashley Graham

But they also say the leak from TGS was real so I don't really know how true it is.

About the enemies talk. Resident Evil 5 don't have the greatest, but this one is an exception:

I liked this enemy, you had to be SKILLED to take care of them.
Most of you guys wouldn't know nothing about that :D

So they confirmed forced Co-op? Great. I guess I'm not buying the game, as awesome as Leon sections looked in the trrailer.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Also, I wish Claire showed her face in here :(

CLAIRE WHERE ARE YOU!??!!?

It'll be better if they balanced the game properly, bosses in particular, so that you never have to RELY on your AI partner to do anything. If they're just there for story purposes, an extra inventory, to provide some tense "save you partner" moments, and maybe save you from death once in a while, I see no problem with that. The issue is when the game is DESIGNED for co-op, but isn't adjusted for people playing alone so you get Sheva dicking around and wasting healing items.

Also not sure how I feel about the split campaigns and how it's going to effect weapon upgrading/new game+.

Wesker should've worn business attire similar to how Birkin was wearing his normal lab clothes. That would have added a less "lol matrix" layer to the different encounters in RE5. Sunglasses are no problem since thats his trademark/necessary to hide his eyes.

Claire got the Mercenaries 3D spot, where Leon got the RE6 spot.

It's kind of funny. Looks like Leon got the long end of the stick after all.

bleh Mercs 3D is a cop out.
She is also in RE: Operation RC but I need a legit RE appearance, especially since I've been playing RE:CV lately

People are fooling themselves if they believe that this game wont be designed with co op in mind. There is not just 2 player co op but 6 player co op. Looks like RE5 all over again :(

Why not design a separate campaign for Co-op? Make Leon's for single player and Chris' for Co-op. This way everyone is happy.

Well that still doesn't totally help the people playing singleplayer, it only means one campaign will be far better for them than another. The optimal solution would be to design the game as singleplayer focused, and CHANGE certain areas, tactics, AI logic, number of enemies, etc. etc. when you play with a human partner. Sort of like Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light.

Has that been confirmed yet? Because if so, it would only work for Chris' campaign.

When I first saw the trailer I thought there was going to be three different types of campaigns with Leon being solo, Bald Guy and Blonde Girl as Co Op, and Chris as squad based, If only that were the case.

Sounds nothing like what I was hoping for sadly. Will every single game be a TPS with co-op, multiplayer and cover mechanics next gen?

So hyped for this. I was kind of scared they would completely abandon the action focus of RE5. Of course that would've been silly with it being the best seller in the series.

Probably my only day 1 purchase this year.

Leon suplexes zombies.

Resident Evil is somewhat tongue and cheek, has been for a while now.

In RE4 Leon suplexing zombies felt realistic in a way, just something he was capable of just like his evade/maneuver techniques which aided him to survive. Ada Wong spoke about this in the Separate Ways campaign.

Yes please all over my face! Can't wait. (replaying RE5 for the 6th time right now coincidentally..WITH my co-op partner of course)

This is what's looking like a problem for RE6. The more Capcom puts in segments where players would have the desire to run and gun, the more they're failing the franchise. The military shooter shit needs to GTFO. Hopefully they find some way to not make it a drag. Leon's campaign still looks like the only one worth getting excited over, if it reflects the general direction of Revelations, which is a good mix of new mechanics and old atmosphere.

The snippets from Leons campaign were too short, but didn't really give the same impression as Revelations with huge hordes of enemies and Leon having some kind of Matrix-moveset. I'm hoping for the best, but as you said, it's safe to say that seemingly big parts of the game are already ruined with that RE5-esque military nonsense.

I don't run and shoot in military shooters. Doing so almost always guarantees that I'm going to miss.

That said the ability to shoot while running from some huge monster barreling at me in a city street would be pretty cool.

Moving and shooting has no hold over whether a game is tense, scary, or unnerving. It is all about great game design and atmosphere. If done properly a more organic and free form control system could easily compliment the game's horror aspects.

New info from a gameinformer scan. Here's the gist, thanks to "Laureen" on Capcom Unity (scans are on there too):

Ada makes an appearance, though not in Tall Oaks.

- Leon's scenario is similar to Revelations in terms of gameplay and atmosphere. Item boxes return.

- Chris' scenario is like RE5 and is the longest of the three. Features locations such as Lanshiang (China, fictional city), Serbia and New York City.

- Jill Valentine is now Jill Redfield. Chris married her shortly after the events of RE5. She's no longer a field agent, but is still at the BSAA as a bioweapons advisor in the New York City HQ.

- Helena Harper hides something relevant to past Resident Evil events.

Not sure if it's shopped, as I haven't seen enough shops in my day.

Is RE6 the GI cover story they've been hyping up?

damn, I was hoping for a corny Will Turner/Elizabeth Swan style wedding between the two of them while they're blasting zombies with Barry as the officiant.

Metal Gear did it, why not RE? :(

Hmm they clearly have been setting something up with Chris and Jill. Granted I still think Chris has as much romantic feelings following with Jill as he does a cardboard box but eh.

Kinda pissed that Leon's section is the only one similar to Rev, the whole game should be like that.

Don't know how much I believe any of this though, given how the Producer on Rev seemed so sure that Re6 needed to be even more Action focused. That and Leon felt way more the focus then Chris (makes since given Chris just lead in 5) only to have Chris have the longest section.

It's about time those two finally did the horizontal monster mash.

And Leon's section playing like Revelations? Way too hyped for this.

Jill Redfield... as long as she ain't blonde anymore, I'm fine with it.

She'll be a redhead this time.

Well, if it's true, we can expect her to show up in the game, seeing as how she's stationed in NYC and Chris goes there in his campaign.

Probably still no Claire. Maybe she'll be in the wedding photo.

Anyway I think the game will be incredible, I've learned to not expect anymore legit horror from the series. It's been over 10 years since "classic" RE. Pretty much at this point I just expect a great game period, which I felt the RE4 and 5 were. The game looks extremely varied and fresh to me based on the reveal trailer.

Calling bogus.

Doesn't match the GI text layout style plus surely they wouldn't use the standard Capcom art for the cover. (I assume all this character art has been released separately?)
