If it is fake, someone did his research. I think I remember reading that either ogre or mgs5 was supposed to have a more open world.
However, Open Ground Reconnaissance Endeavour does sound weird even for Lightning Bolt Action and Revengeance standards..

That fits IMO, if they're making a game about Big Boss and want Solid/Liquid as a part of it, then you're going to want to set it so they're at the very least old enough for a speaking role... Early 80s sounds about right.
