Mostly retail, but a lot I want this month. Project Mirai DX, Super Mario Maker, Senran Kagura 2, & 3D Sonic 2.

....& that's just Nintendo, with Danganronpa Another Episode's LE arriving this week & Persona 4 Dancing All Night's LE at the end of the month.

Am I going to be able to give Gunman Clive and Zoda's Revenge their due before Super Mario Maker?

Probably not. Too bad, wallet.

Oh, and I've got Senran Kagura 2 on pre-order too. Forgot about that.

Both Gunman Clive games are rather short so yes

I'm hearing Best Buy is doing another 10% off sale on eShop cards starting on Sept. 6th.

If you do pick up Legends, I implore you not to play the included Origins levels and to play them in Origins proper instead, since they're much better balanced in difficulty in their original game.

Hey Max, if you don't mind, could you expand on this? I only have Legends, and was planning on playing the Origins levels once I finished the main game (granted, at my current rate, would be the year 2035).

September already... man time sure flies in summer! :(

Good sales and VC titles for now and I expect them to keep going during September.

Max, saw your post in the previous thread. I'll ask you questions about Scram Kitty when I come back to the game! :)

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Disney Infinity 3.0 is the best toys to life game I've ever played. Way better than 2.0. Better than any of the Skylanders stuff so far. Also better than any of the Nintendo Amiibo stuff so far*

*Caveat being stuff like Splat or Smash is great on its own, but they aren't really toys to life games per say.

Hey IPS! Long time no chat, man. Hope things are good up in Canada. Anyway, I would be glad to expand on my issue with the Origins levels. Essentially, I think it's good that you're playing Legends first because Origins is the better game. There are a variety of reasons for this, but at its core the difficulty curve and thoughtfulness of the difficulty is more complex and well-considered in Origins.

The way you pick up lums has to do with certain lums becoming momentarily colored and worth "double" lums in Origins, and there are fewer plentiful sets of lums so you have to think much more strategically and carefully about how to collect them in the game. On the whole, there are fewer "extra" lums in the Origins levels, that is, fewer lums above and beyond how many it takes to 100% a level, so the bar is much higher for 100% completion. Additionally, the Origins levels boast traditional time trials whereas Legends has only the odd edited "Invasion" segments of levels for time trials. But to circle back to the lum issue--the bottom line is that it is much easier to 100% levels in Legends, whereas it is more complex and thoughtful and difficult a task in Origins.

Further, while Rayman has the music levels, which are very fun and creative, Origins has the Tricky Treasure levels which to me were even cleverer. I do like the music levels a lot in Legends, but between the two I'd take those Tricky Treasure levels any day.

Finally, I don't want to get too spoilery, but the unlockable final world in Legends is, to put it very kindly, a bunch of bullshit. Be prepared for some real nonsense. :)

Looking forward to that. Thanks Orgen, hope you enjoy the game when you next get to play it!

I could be remembering wrong, since it's been a while since I played it, but I think you actually do have to play the some of the Origins levels in order to unlock the last Legends world.

Definitely upgrading Sin & Punishment when it hits Yurop. Other than that it's only Little Battlers but I'm going retail for that. Speaking of which, I could go with another L5 sale.

All the more reason not to play the Origins levels. Legends is much better if you don't play the dreadful final world.

Amazon (US) launched a Nintendo Digital Downloads storefront today.

http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=vg_homepage_quicklinks_nintendodigital?ie=UTF8&node=12597678011

Lots of retail, eShop and VC titles added.

Also they are finally selling eShop gift cards (physical cards mailed to you, not emailed codes unfortunately)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00U6DTA9S/10-0105-20/

Wow, they should really pull the Wii codes from that section, those are just bound to confuse, annoy, and upset.

Take a video I wanna see mini robo playing SMB3....

It's awesome, he's intrigued by the idea that I used to play these games when I was his age

I'm not that comfortable with putting videos of my kids out on the internet, but maybe I'll take a blurry photo or something next time we play :p

Oh, duh. Sorry. Not meaning to make any awkward suggestions. I meant more just taking video of his gameplay, though, not him!

You could just take a video of the screen right? To show how he's playing as opposed to showing your kids?

xD Sorry for being daft, should've understood that. Sure, I'll do that next time. It's mostly 5 seconds, die, 5 seconds, die, 5 seconds, "daddy, can you clear this level?" though :D

Gonna repost this from the other thread. I did get a reply, but if anyone has any other insight, I'd love to hear it:

Does anyone know how to deactivate the automatic HD playback of YouTube videos in the Wii U browser? I'm pretty sure that's new, and my wifi connection can't handle it, currently rendering the service useless to me.

If you use YouTube logged in, there's an option under the playback section of the settings to disable high quality video. I haven't tried it myself, but that sounds like what you're looking for.

I still can't believe Nintendo classified Vs Excitebike as an NES game and didn't import tax it. They could've run that up to like, $7.99 and it would've made sense.

Am I allowed to say that I just got a Gunman Clive HD Collection review code and that the games look, play and feel amazing on the Wii U?

Of course. I doubt anyone would be upset about embargo being "broken" in that way ;)
But just today, I saw that the collection had one review on the eShop. It was 2 Stars.

Clearly its trash. /s

I was pissed when I saw it.

But seriously, get it if you didn't/don't plan on getting 3DS versions. Such awesome games!

Just tested and it works, the only problem for people is the only two settings are always low quality or always highest quality. Should help those with bandwidth limits out though.
