Lots of accusatory looks, a Rube Goldberg machine and a guy that should feel lucky about the fact that he's sitting in the back of the classroom behind a tall guy.

I did not know about this.

I wonder if Rocksmith actually helps you learn guitar.
It just make learning guitar a bit more fun i guess?

Yeah, Rocksmith 2014 is pretty good... although you still need to have the discipline to train yourself.

Yeah, i guess i still need to train as well.

No Game No Life 12

That final and cliffhanger, this is surprisingly good. I have low expectation, but by the end of it, i enjoy it a lot more than i thought. The game is great, and while blank is unbeatable, at least they show some weakness, unlike a certain oni-sama.

Hitsugi no Chaika 12

It also end with cliffhanger, but we already know it's going to get 2nd season, and there's another official announcement at the end, so all is well. It's standard fantasy, not really the greatest, but it also not bad. It just decent show.

Funi ftw!!

FUNimation is proud to announce the acquisition of Free! -Eternal Summer-, the continuation of the hit swimming anime that made waves across the Internet! Not only will we be simulcasting the series as part of our summer season, we’ve also acquired home video rights! Yes, you read that right— Free! -Eternal Summer- will be coming to home video in North America.

Congrats to Funi for acquiring the sequel to one of KyoAni best shows.

"All"? ...Dare I ask how many that is?
Not that many. A major reason is also that people with poor eyesight are very rarely allowed to fly planes.

Haha. Pantsu.
ja nai kara hazukashiky nai mon~

Superior joke.

I see Kancolle posts but no-one acknowledging the actual best design, i.e Wo-class.

... although she's certainly on my nautical radar now as well.
Re-class is the better choice if you will tread that path. I am under orders not to fight you however.

Just came back , and saw duckroll post ... from the way i understand it , it seems like it's something like : " let's not post content ( text or pictures ) that would bother someone else."

So well ...

So can people no longer post something along the lines of:

"(Show name, episode #)

*Pic of character

(Said character) best girl!"

Even jokingly? Or is it only problematic if it turns into a drawn out waifu war?

Well first of all, I never said anything about that. What I want less of are people arguing over redundant things, and having less filler on the thread. I really don't want the thread to become an image depository, especially for stuff which is borderline NSFW and where some people constantly try to push the envelope to test where the line is. Ideally none of that should be a concern at all. This should be a place where people can watch anime and talk about it, discuss news, and keep it clean. Making distasteful comments or acting like the otaku stereotype people have of sick fanboys is not something we should encourage.

You understand right? "Waifu wars" is just another way of saying I think we could all do less with people spamming low content stuff of that nature. It's not that people can't make jokes, it's just that the culture needs to improve bit because I feel it's been slipping. From time to time it's good for a community to reflect and adept.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Episode 13

I admit I kept waiting for the moment where somebody was going to buy a vowel from Pat Sajak, but I don't think that show ever offered up a car that ugly. At any rate another stand of the battle, it was alright, not the best, not the worst. Also the brat is back for some reason. Anyway next episode look like the real game begins
with the midboss battle.

With only two more months to go, there's a new short PV for the Ano Natsu de Matteru OVA bundled with the Blu-ray box coming out in late August:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r02MbBItomA

Not a whole lot to see in it though, at least without knowing what the narration is saying (EDIT: oh, looks like someone took a stab at a translation in the comments). Better to just watch it for the new Ray song for now.
Oh, and the lovely snippet of the Vidro Moyou piano version at the end.

Do people really want K-ON to be umpteen hours of the girls practicing scales and such on their instruments?

In a word yes, it would be more compelling and relevant to the premise the the god damned airy cake eating and tea drinking that just serves to have moe girls be moe girls. God damn do I want destroy this series with an axe.

It still amazes me something as inoffensive as K-On! can rile people up.

>Seems like it's taking place between the ending and the epilogue of the tv series.

It seems like it's about Kaito making another movie during the gang's next summer vacation, their last one before they graduate high school.

That is actually one of the reasons I hate the show so much, the are no problems, there are no conflicts, there are no real issues and when they do come up they get solved very blandly. Also, the success of K-On! meant that we have been dealing with its mutant spawn for six years now.

For all that people complain about K-ON being nothing but tea and cake, there's actually a fair bit of music-related things that it deals with when you actually look at the show.

Never watch Aria the Animation.

"Cute girls doing cute things" shows existed before K-ON, though.

K-ON is the League of Legends of Anime.

Here is the thing, there were but this show, this show here is THE temple and the template to which all who have come after it pray to and divine influence from. Sailor Moon wasn't the first Magical Girl show but it is the Ur-Example because of how much popularity and influence it carried within not just its genre but anime itself. At the base level, this is the show the likes of Girls Un Panzer seek as a primary source.

1. I think you exaggerate the importance of K-ON thematically to similar shows.

2. And what's wrong with Girls und Panzer anyway? (Seems weird to bring that up as a complaint when the vast majority of its time is spent in tank battles!)

I liked K-On but...

it certainly made KyoAni go down the path I did not want.

What path is that? I don't think K-ON made KyoAni go down any particular path.

I feel your anger is largely misplaced here. There is a lot more to K-ON than what you describe, which is exactly why much of its supposed imitators have been lacklustre.
But more importantly, your perception that K-ON's success is the reason why you see all these shows. This is some OT level paranoid nonsense and you really should know better posting in here that it is not the case. K-ON neither is the first of its kinda nor what actually popularised these tropes. They have been a core of anime and manga culture for several decades.

People like to treat K-ON like it came out of thin air in a universe that consisted of @the_old_anime_i_cared_about and ruined everything, while they dramatise things that they never bothered to look into in an effort to find a culprit for an offence that isn't there. It's annoying because they are so convinced by their discovered 'us and them' mentality that they are impossible to reason with.

Edit:
1. I think you exaggerate the importance of K-ON thematically to similar shows.
This is an elegant way to put it I guess.

Don't hide it, you all are looking are ricebowls. RIGHT NOW. I know how you demon spawn, born from K-ON!'s malice work.

Like "moe", it's an easy scapegoat.

People hate "moe", because it's the face of anime.

People hate K-ON, because it's the face of "moe".

And people hate Yui/Mio because they are the faces of K-ON.

Also shitty characters in general Ui/Mugi for life.
