45€ for Rhythm Thief blows my mind.

The game is two years old, who is making this borderline insane pricing decisions?

Would've bought it in a heartbeat for 20...

In addition to video games available at retail stores, Nintendo also offers a variety of content that people can download directly to their systems. Nintendo adds new titles weekly to the Nintendo eShop for the Wii U system as well as the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL systems, to the Nintendo DSi™ Shop for the Nintendo DSi system and to the Wii™ Shop Channel for the Wii console.

The Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service and features games, applications and videos. Users can add money to their account balance by using a credit card or by purchasing a Nintendo Prepaid Card at a retail store and entering the code from the card. All funds from one card must be redeemed in either the Wii U eShop or the Nintendo 3DS eShop, respectively. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.

The Wii Shop Channel offers games and applications and uses Wii Points™, which can be purchased via the Wii Shop Channel. The Nintendo DSi Shop offers games and applications and uses Nintendo DSi Points™, which can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. A Wii Points Card™ and Nintendo DSi Points Card™ can be purchased at retail locations. All points from one card must be redeemed in either the Wii Shop Channel or the Nintendo DSi Shop, respectively. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.

Remember that Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo DSi feature parental controls that let adults manage some of the content their children can access. For more information about this and other features, visit http://www.nintendo.com/wiiu, http://www.nintendo.com/wii, http://www.nintendo.com/3ds or http://www.nintendo.com/ds.

Problem, I had to delete Rayman Legends Challenge App from my menu to make space for WWHD and Hyrule Historia. And now the eShop won't allow me to redownload it.

Which makes zero sense since historically you can redownload anything you've previously downloaded even if it's not actually on the store anymore. Like being able to redownload DKC on the Wii VC for instance or Four Swords DSiWare.

I sent an email to Nintendo, but also, I only have the save file left, am I still eligible to get the Funky costume in the main game since I downloaded the App in the first place?

I would imagine it checks the save file to give you funky rayman, as it also keeps your challenge results

Is this true with free downloads though? I have a feeling there were similar things happening on Wii with some pulled WiiWare demos, but not sure on that. I definitely was not able to transfer FF My Life as a Dark Lord and Pokemon Rumble demos from Wii to Wii U, that I know. I agree they should not touch anyone's download histories.

The App is in my history (hence I saw said message XD). But the transfer limit was true on DSi-3DS as well, like Asphalt 4 was a no go, same with Zelda Four Swords (you had to already have it on 3DS IIRC), also Flipnote and the XL native apps like Brain Training and Mario Clock (not counting bought versions).

If you still got the save, I'm sure you'll get the costume anyway. How else whould they check if you've already played it?

By the way, the lack of Sonic Lost World demo is disappointing.

Reposting some things that DavidDayton mentioned near the end of the last thread.

  • Yoshi's Cookie (NES) is already gone from the Wii shop, as of 10/09/2013.
  • Strangely, Super Turrican 2 is missing as well -- not Super Turrican, nor Mega Turrican... just SF2.
  • About 8 or so WiiWare things are gone -- everything by The Code Monkeys (I think they went bankrupt earlier this year) and the Konami published Ben X game. Also, the Vampire Crystals DEMO is gone, but not the game.

The European download version of Devil Survivor OverClocked has to be patched separately.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, read here.

Konami also removed the XBLA Ben 10 game as well. I think they must've lost the license or something.

Tennis and Golf?! How about some SNES games, Nintendo!! One day, I'll check the Nintendo Download and A Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario Kart, or something like that will be there. One day.....

I like how NOE don't ruin the surprise of Mario(TM) being the umpire while NOA just jump right in.

For people not following the previous thread. Europe has a little longer to pick this up but it is getting removed (found out same way as DKC, NOE saying so on the Wii Shop channel which is NOAs cue to remove it instantly)

OK, I'm confused - why is Devil Survivor Overclocked listed in the NA press release when it's been available as a download for like, a year? Is it going on sale?

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
There is nothing I find more irritating in this entire industry than Nintendo's ridiculous Virtual Console release schedule.

This is one thing we've always been on the same page about. I have no idea how Nintendo isn't embarrassed by the VC lineup, its just the worst handled service in gaming. Apparently some people are happy with it and keep buying so thanks to all of you out there....

Are you sure that it's been available for download for that long? The download version is only just releasing today according to the eShop itself.

I actually had to verify this because it blows my mind but Golf is new VC game. Never released on Wii VC as far as I can tell (but was released for 3DS).

I think it was on the eShop due to screenshots & trailers. Some games are on there with screenshots, a trailer perhaps, and a description, but aren't available for download.

Though it's up for download now for $29.99.

As stupid as it would be, the Wii U VC always feels to me like something they slapped together in a few min just to have it out there in some form but they weren't really planning to do it (for some reason) yet. They don't really care about it, just trickle out 'whatever is ready' and if people want it they'll buy it, if not oh well.

While the Wii one felt like something that actively had a plan. They had their systems represented day 1 and got others on board fairly quickly to make an overall wonderful service (IMO). I know people bitched about the Wii VC after a few years too but I personally thought it was fantastic and had most the games I expected and some awesome bonus ones I never would have guessed would come out on it.

Earthbound is a very big deal but it can't be the only song and dance release on the Wii U service.

We dreamed of GameCube stuff lol, but they seemingly can't even get the GBA stuff THEY ACTUALLY ANNOUNCED THEMSELVES out, doesn't fill me with confidence. :(

There's no reason they can't have at least one strong title a week. They're a business, this is, pretty much free money. At this rate it'll be years till we get GBA and N64 stuff... nevermind Game Cube. When you have a system struggling for software, why wouldn't want a wide selection of legacy titles? It don't make no sense!!

Because people keep buying the bad titles they put up, why even bother putting up more games on par with Super Metroid and Earthbound.

Devil Survivor Overclocked sure took its time for an eShop release.

EDIT: lol, there is a "games with DLC" category on the eShop this week.

What irritates me is the disparity of releases between regions. Japan already has Castlevania IV, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy III, Super Mario Kart, Legend of Mystical Ninja, and Megaman X 2 was just released. And the US and Europe gets Golf and Tennis and are missing the aforementioned games. Why?

You're assuming that Golf and Earthbound are bringing in the same amount of revenue, which I doubt is the case. People keep complaining about which games they bring out, but a 'strong' game to one person will bring message board complaints from another. I have no interest in Tennis or Golf, but I'm glad they're here as I'd love to see as much content as possible. People who only want "strong" big name games every week are a bigger problem IMO, as they're the ones who are making it less likely we'll get the obscure niche games in favor of another Final Fantasy re-release.

Nintendo has recently done a good job at identifying and promoting rare games being made available again, like Earthbound, Shantae, and Recca. I hope this continues!

I agree there could be more content, but I'm satisfied with at least one game per week. It really sucks that there's been nothing on 3DS for the past few weeks.

It would be better if we had some kind of schedule. If I know there's a good game coming up in three weeks, I wouldn't mind a bad week as much. This way I just assume the next weeks will be as bad.

Gamecube on VC.....lol. Good luck with that one.

We'll be lucky if we get N64 games by 2015 at this rate.
