Overall this game looks more hectic and faster than Smash. Maybe not super-high level Melee fast, but still hectic with a lot of interesting stage gimmicks. Supers look cool too.

Who's going to put up footage first GT, IGN, Destructoid?

This game looks amazing! Looks like this old 4-player game I used to play back in high school called Super Smash Brother. Maybe I'll play my PS3 this year.

- Hades stage (hades doing things during the fight)
- Buzz stage (get quizzed DURING the fight)
- LBP stage (starts off empty, stage builds as you play)

- Ratchet and Clank stage with Hydra from GoW
- Patapons doing things to Hades, combining characters for stages

- sly (can turn invisible cuz he stealthy)

- Radec (his 3rd super is going into first person mode and fucking shit up)

Super Smash Bros. Melee is my favorite game of all time. Why the hell would I not be excited for a game that plays like it?

Looks really enjoyable. I'm curious to see if Sir Dan will get into this game.

Put in Gray Fox and Raziel (Soul Reaver) as third party characters and you have my money.

As a Nintendo fan, this literally makes me sick with glee. SSB is a staple of Nintendo, its totally awesome Sony is doing their own version of the game. Hopefully Nintendo won't sue or something, because that is so wrong.

Oh, god. I am really tempted to rebuy a PS3 just for this game. Yes, it's a blatant ripoff of SSMB and honestly, that's one of the reasons I'm interested in the game. I had loads of fun with SSMB and I like the Sony characters much more than the Nintendo ones so this game is a no brainer for me.

Its the physics and what some of the movesets look like. Its soooo extremely similar to smash. I saw a Down+Attack "Freeze in air and drop to the ground" ala Kirby move in there a few times. And even the jumping around seems to be extremely similar to smash physics. I definitely expected a Smash esque game, but the similarities are a little more numerous than even I expected. I mean you very very literally would think that its smash were it not for the character skins and backgrounds. Even the animations are very similar.

The pace to me looked exactly the same. Like, exactly. OTOH this subgenre is IMO the best thing to happen to the fighter genre since SF2. A lot more people will play it now, and I suspect we will see a lot less bullshit about these not being able to qualify as real fighting games. They are fun as fuck, that just cannot be denied.

Everyone console is entitled to a Mariokart/ Smash Bros/ Mario Party rip-off. Its just for having fun. Thats all.

Anyway. Fighters Megamix came before Smash Bro's. Same concept of taking players from different games and throwing them into the game.

This game needs a car from Gran Turismo.

Also Kain, and Snake, and Berry Burton, and FF characters, I could do this forever.

So much potential for this roster, don't let me down, can't wait till I can actually see the game :(

Still a little disappointed it wasn't something unique (or at least like Power Stone if it had to be a clone), but it still looked exciting and fun.
All the info was great too (3rd parties, this year, 60fps, etc.).

SuperBot/Geoff delivered.
