WWEshop has this available:

But I prefer the blue one. Probably would be my first and only wrestling t-shirt.

I think it's funny how after one minute you already have a thread up.

Clearly on this matter you knew what you have done. :)

I don't even know
On a 1-10 scale of threads you should avoid Snooki threads would be a -5, you would never think you could get banned over posting in a Snooki thread. Yet here the impossible has happened.

If memes were bannable in WrassleGaf we would all be gone.

If Ryhack is following the Goldberg patch to greatness, he should be running out of enhancement talent this month. If they put him on Raw and Smackdown every week + house shows, he'll be 100-0 by October.

Yeah but Goldberg looked cool. Like, say what you want about ability, but guy had an amazing 'look'.

Ryback just looks stupid.

What I liked about Goldberg's streak was how he was beating up guys that were either his size or bigger than him from the get go. You rarely saw him against guys who were smaller than him.

I know we're only a few weeks into Ryback's streak, but so far, he's just beating up guys who are 150-175 lbs soaking wet, and I think that has to be one reason why Ryback isn't getting much of a reaction from live crowds so far. I mean, of course he's going to dominate guys who are half his size!

Not only did Goldberg have the look, but he really did have that "it factor" that got the crowd on his side very quickly. When he performed a power move, it got a response from the crowd nearly every time. While he never was the most graceful wrestler, the man did have a level of charisma that was exhibited in his matches.

CHIKARA Special Update: Tim Donst-A-Go-Go - the mentally unstable Tim Donst hijacks the Podcast-A-Go-Go in an attempt to capture and kill Hallowicked;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glF-HpJKfAw

One of the best things CHIKARA has ever done. It was really cool how they fought through the entire store in basically one shot. Tim Donst plays the crazy guy pretty well. Donst was great with his comments throughout the thing I laughed a few times. He has really gotten awesome this past year. If I have one complaint it's that there was no Jakob involvement. His hilarity would have made this legend. Keep ignoring awesome promotions like CHIKARA and keep bitching about WWE and obsessing over Kane dudes.

Vince McMahon used to call Dave Meltzer and talk to him directly in the early to mid 90s and been covering wrestling for almost 30 years. His memory is insane too with some of the matches and dates he remembers. Most reputable wrestling news reporter out there.

I would have loved to have heard the conversations between Dave and Vince. Same for the ones he had with Bischoff.

Hello sports entertainment friends, I'd like to poll members of Wrassle-GAF to see what percentage of fans are also fans of Ultimate Fighting, pro wrestling's second cousin.

If I had to speak for the Ultimate Fighting community on GAF, it appears that a majority of our members are former pro wrestling fans that have branched out to other forms of sports entertainment.

here are some informative posts if you would like to learn more about Ultimate Fighting.

I encourage some of the disillusioned fans of sports entertainment to join the most insular sports entertainment community on GAF.

We've got squash matches, bad booking, an egomaniac president/company spokesman, some good mic work, and our pay-per-views are on Saturday.

Regards

Vince used to be alot cooler and less hot headed back then. They had all their storylines planned out a year in advance and would let the guys know who they were facing all the way down the line. The richer and older he got the more insular and insane he got.

I just imagine Vince going NUTS every time Dave interrupts him and goes off on some insane tangent. :D

Imagine the greatest buddy cop movie ever: Vince, the loose cannon, trying to get out of a sticky situation by bullshitting then Dave pointing the holes in what he says by bringing up house show attendance records from 1983 or some other random trivia.

I'm not a fan (currently), but I'm also not uninterested.

I'm a fan....I can enjoy a good match, but I can't sit through it all day like I can pro wrestling.

I gave UFC a chance a while ago, but didn't get hooked - I should really give it another go, as I liked the spectacle and enjoyed the hell out of Edgar vs Maynard 3, also I'm a big fan of shoot-style pro-wrestling like BattlArts & UWFi; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TvG_218kus

I'm a fan of MMA as well, but I'm still slowly learning about it, so I'm a novice at best. I have more of a background watching pro wrestling dating back to '97, but I'm starting to enjoy watching MMA as well.

Are you aware of the history of the PRIDE MMA promotion in Japan? Originally having roots in UWFI and shoot-style wrestlers like Kazushi Sakuraba, Nobuhiko Takada, Kazuyuki Fujita etc. from that era transitioning to fighting in legitimate MMA matches.

MMA and wrestling are a lot more closely tied than most people think with Inoki etc.

For anyone interested, in the Observer that just came out, Meltzer gave the Brock/Cena match 4 and a half stars.

What did he give the Daniel Bryan and Cm Punk matches?

Here is the ratings break down:

It appears the rating was drawn based on the curiosity of the show and Lesnar, since the first quarter with Lesnar, HHH and John Laurinaitis did a 3.53 and was the highest rated segment of the show. The second quarter lost only 9,000 viewers, but Lesnar putting the Kimura on HHH came after the 15:00 mark and I’d guess that period did huge and they dropped for Santino Marella vs. Miz. Layla vs. Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella lost 479,000 viewers. Chris Jericho vs. Big Show and Brodus Clay vs. JTG gained 282,000 viewers. Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger lost 68,000 viewers in the 10 p.m. time slot. You could probably count on one hand the number of times they lost viewers in that slot over the last year. That’s the time of the show that people naturally by force of habit gravitate toward. The tag title change with R-Truth & Kofi Kingston over Primo & Epico lost 245,000 viewers. Great Khali vs. Kane gained 81,000 viewers. Daniel Bryan vs. Jerry Lawler lost 198,000 viewers. The final segment with John Cena being attacked by Laurinaitis, Lord Tensai and Sakamoto gained 578,000 viewers to a 3.49 overrun.

I was just curious because I was a longtime fan of pro wrestling but stopped watching during 02 or 03. I browse wrestling threads on GAF from time to time and am always surprised at how overwhelmingly negative the tone of the thread is in general.

So I was just curious what % of people tried the Ultimate out as a way to try to get their sports entertainment fix, or to the uninitiated an invitation to the insular community as it is.

The Bryan match was 4 stars and the Punk one was 3 and a half.

EDIT: The others were
Orton/Kane: 3 stars
Brodus/Dolph: 1 star
Cody/Big Show: 1/4 star
Ryback squash: 1/4 star
Layla/Bella(s): dud

Pro wrestling fans looking to get into MMA are probably best checking out a fight that has a great storyline behind it. Silva/Sonnen 2 is a great example of this since it has a better storyline than anything the WWE has done in years. Watch the countdown shows, get to know who the guys are and why they are fighting each other and it becomes much more enjoyable for a beginner.
