Beta invite has been received and account created. Now to have a bit of a tool around with the new system. There's no need to set up a bunch of maps as most of what you'll see will be in your imagination. I just have to figure out what the best way to deliver handouts will be.

I'm pretty confident with my decision on which system to run, I just need to do some brushing up on it and we shouldn't be far off getting a game started.

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.
Sucks having your thoughts broadcast?

If people come here to read what I write it's fine, this is GAF. Copying that to Twitter, so anyone who follows me can see it? Not cool.

I'm on Twitter, Facebook, GAF, my own forums, Kotaku. My thoughts get published everyday, but I'm in control of where I put them and what I say.

Thinking his cousin's ex follows him on twitter.

Nope, I've never even met her. She's a 17 year old girl, I don't care what she thinks of me.

What?

AusGAF drama goes over my head.

Kritz and or whoever owns the @AusGAF Twitter account, remove me from being posted in it or I won't post on AusGAF anymore.
VOOK, your posts will no longer automatically appear on the @AusGAF Twitter account.

However, you've been given ample reminders that you can opt out from having your posts tweeted:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=37364106&postcount=9235 (this one was just this pask weekend)

In case anyone hasn't seen it the past five times:

Also a reminder that you can have it omit your Twitter name or posts completely if you want, or alternatively if you want me to link your Twitter account with your GAF username just post it here or PM me.

The point of the account is, for me, having a way to be able to quickly check in on AusGAF updates when not at a computer. Following the link to an individual post goes to the desktop or mobile version, straight to the post. Great for catching up on discussions when not at home or skipping over political discussions or other things I'm not interested in.

Also thanks to reptile for alerting me to VOOK's request as I hadn't checked in for a few hours.

How is it better than just using the mobile site? Not being argumentative, genuinely interested. It seems like a really clunky way to follow a thread to me.

Still haven't figured out the point of it.
Oh.

I love all the things AusGAF makes, the Steam category changer, all that stuff, even if I don't use it or even understand it. Makes me feel clever by association :)

If the mobile site had push notifications, I wouldn't even bother. Twitter does, however. Also, I wanted to do something with Twitter, and this seemed like a good project! I'm more than happy to make the account private and only add people who request access if that's what people prefer. I'll still be using it...

It sounds very much like a thing you just made for you, so I - obviously I already opted out - but I would prefer you set it to private. Auto-reblogging posts from here out into the twitters is kinda weird.

Just using Twitter as an all in one solution rather than having to check the mobile site as well.

It is a good idea but I struggle to keep up with my twitter feed as it is. Also I multiquote a fair bit. :)

I really need to 100% more games rather than finish with the intention of doing more but getting distracted and then losing touch with the game. Still halfway through my Alpha Protocol and ME1 replays.

You have to use the site anyway if the post is longer than a tweet, which a lot of them are.

The first 100 characters should be enough to know if you are interested enough to read the whole thing or to make a reply though. I can see it being handy if you are on the go.

True, but generally from the first 140 or so characters that make it into a tweet you can tell if it's something you want to read.

If you use RSS, you'll know a lot of sites don't have full text feeds, meaning you have to click through to read the full content. It's just like that.

Anyone who would prefer the AusGAF twitter account to go private, let me know in the next 24 hours and if it seems like there's a desire for that, I'll change it. However two points -- if I do make it private, any verified GAF member can get access by just asking, and I will reinstate all posts by all posters to appear on the newly-made private account (since it won't be public and will be visible by GAF members... just like your current posts). Point two: The @AusGAF/members list (http://www.twitter.com/ausgaf/members) may go dark (not sure what happens to public lists on private accounts), meaning if you follow AusGAF members on Twitter that way, you'll have to follow yourself some other way.

Thank you, apologies for not seeing the things before. It's a great idea for yourself, and for anyone who might have the site blocked at work. I'd just prefer to not be on it.

Most of the stuff I say here on AusGAF goes on Twitter anyway, just some things I want to share on here and not on Twitter. If you go private (and without bad things happening) you can add me back on.

Also who am I not following on Twitter, I need to follow some new people. Cleared out about 30 dead accounts yesterday and it's dry!

I totally forgot to log into my own account, heh.

Your discussion with reptile about this has fit into the past few tweets that have appeared. :)

Last thing I want to do is make people uncomfortable or feel like they have to censor themselves, so let me know if you would prefer the account to go private.

That said, Google does scrape GAF...

If you dont want your ausgaf posts on twitter, post 100 odd random characters.

Q1 2013 for BB10 handsets isnt it? Might hold out til then. I have a polarising love-hate weekly cycle with wp7 at the moment.

I thought it would be the Cookie Monster one actually. Some really good designs, great they they keep them available while they are popular too unlike TeeFury.

Also I will be getting this one for my D&D playing bro-in-law.

Pffft. Clearly fake since Stegosaurs were long extinct before then.

edit: also, no fossil dino wizards have been found either.

but ever so delicious
I can totally predict the future. I had a random thought that my old man would be near and would pick me up from work about an hour ago. He called just then to see if I wanted to be picked up.

If I ever have any random thoughts about lotto numbers I better write that shit down.

Someone at work brought in The Sun from July 7th 1969, so I've scanned in a few pages. Enjoy: http://imgur.com/a/fO8gD

That's so damn rad. I'm a massive news nerd, I have to go to the newseum in DC before I die.

I have an issue of The Brisbane Truth (best newspaper name ever?) from 1964 at work. It's hilariously weird, there is a story in it about a married man having sexual relations with a young girl. Today he'd be a sex offender, then he was an adulterer and that was the bigger scandal.

I'd put some up but I don't have a scanner.

Am I on twitter right now?

Also what's up with that Dota courier? Is that for Dire or does Radiant get it too? I think Radiant should stick with the donkey.

That's awesome cods, might even print that out to show some students!

It's an awesome print but I don't think it makes a great t-shirt.
That's the problem I have with Threadless and co. Most of the art is pretty good but half of them are forced onto shirts.

Is this old? Christopher Walken reviews Rumble Roses.

I think I watched him review something else. It was Skyrim. I think even you would enjoy it Vince haha

Apparently Cascade's First Harvest is really good this year, can't wait to try some! Last year it was a bit shit, so hopefully it makes up for it.
