Whoa, great news.

I was genuinely surprised at how good the first and second seasons were, so looking forward to this.

One of the anime I want to see very badly yet have never found it while casually looking. I may have to finally turn it up a little.

around there too? Hated that one :/

I doubt they'll make it all the way to that one. There's still the guy who
only throws jolts
which was pretty crazy and a few other fights for both Ippo and Takamura before we reach that guy. Unless they seriously advance the pacing from what they usually do, this season should still have only good fights.

Man, never thought this day would come. Takamura was great in the last season, but I wanted to see Ippo fight his...umm..rival dude. It's been awhile since I last saw the thing

I'm just sad we won't have Kenji Utsumj as the coach. Rip.

I'll miss hearing him and Raoh at the same time.

Yep, I wonder who they will get to replace Kamogawa.

The ad seems to show them going up to atleast volume 57. I just hope we don't have to wait half a decade for another follow up. They have over 100 volumes to draw from now.

I also hope this opens up a "Victorious Boxers 4" game with the Boxers Road mode from the second game.

Funny enough I think my first thread on Neogaf was the announcement of the second season.

I'd love to care about Hajime no Ippo, but not until Ashita no Joe gets localized for Region 1 by Discotek or RightStuf! This stuff's important: it's one of the most influential and important anime franchises of all time and people don't know shit about it in the States.

JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEE!

I love this show, this is great news.

Semi on topic
Is there a reliable and safe way to get complete box sets of older anime? I would love to get Kenshin and this into my collection, but prices I found online all seem stupidly high. :(

Thank you, Based God. My body is ready. I can't wait to see how they animate the final fight. Its hard to see what (end season spoiler)
the Dempsey Roll ver.2 looks like in the manga.

Guarantee I'm going to screw up this post? Yeah.
Awesome, I haven't watched any anime in a long ass time. I will watch this though.

Great news. I thought they gave up on this for whatever reason and now I don't quite get why it took them this long

I might finally give the first two seasons of Hajime no Ippo a watch after I complete Utena and Aku no Hana. I might cosplay as the MC for the next convention I go to!

The official title for the third season of the Hajime ni Ippo anime is Hajime no Ippo Rising. The staff also unveiled the first image of the series' titular character, Ippo Makunouchi.

George Morikawa's original long-running manga has spawned two television anime series, an original video anime project, and a TV special. Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, the second season of the anime, aired in 2009. NTV will stream both series for free in Japan from August 3 until September. Hajime no Ippo Rising will premiere this fall.
