How big is the difference between PS3 and 360 versions? Also, can non-P1 couch co-op players keep their own character saves? Little Big Planet does this iirc, but not enough other games imo.

I literally think I'll be the only WD in existence.
I don't get the game for another hour or two and not even sure I can squeeze in game play today. Suffice to say if a Demon Hunter is doing fine with the controls a Witch Doctor will be more than playable.

Ugh I should have dug more into this thread. I mulled over both versions in store and last minute got the ps3 version. Should have gone with my rule of thumb multiplats always 360 :/

To answer your second question, the answer is yes. They just won't unlock trophies during couch co op.
Had like 8 legendaries drop so far, all of them Dex, except for one Vit-only helm.
Even though they are/were around lv10-20, they were:
a. Supririsngly great upgrades
b. An awesome bonus on leveling.
They brought it back, folks.
Dat feeling of having a good levelling legendary. Straight from D2.
My monk uses a Daibo now, and thanks to other lowlevel legendaries that give her +spirit as well, I can sustain my spirit needs with it. I mean..WHAT?

specific question for any barbarians out there:
Is there a visual indication of when the revenge skill is triggered? It seems like a good skill but I don't want to constantly be glancing at my skill bar the whole time to see when it's active.

Unless something has changed from the PC version the only indication is the button not being greyed out anymore. If I was you I'd just put it on an easy to hit button and spam that button during the whole fight. That's what I did for PC. I just had it on 1 and during fights I'd just spam 1.
Also you guys are making me really want to buy this, but with GTAV around the corner it's a hard decision, I don't wanna spent too much dosh on video games.

I had forgotten how astonishingly poor the writing and story are in this game. I gave up at Act 2 on normal on PC at launch, so there is a LOT left for me to see. But that Act 1 closing FMV...man I almost broke my back cringing so hard again.

Digital Foundry, I do not need your fancy day-1 analysis, praising D3 console port if Act3's outside areas crawl around 30fps (and I would guess WAY below that in most fights).
I am not blaming the engine or Blizzard or the consoles: these are VERY resource-heavy stages and fights on PC too. But to not even go there and see it, or mention it.... bullshit.
The very definition of front-loaded gaming. Does not take away from D3's awesomeness, but good to know.

I tend to avoid performance analysis videos. I would avoid them completely, but then they put up things of beauty like the 60fps Resogun footage. <3

I cannot wait for the excessive amounts of salt when the NPD numbers come out - it's one of the very few games where when I've purchased it the check out person comments on how fast a game is selling.

Yup. I think I've only watched them long after I got a game and enjoyed the hell out of it. I just don't get why people worry so much about little details. To each their own I guess.
I know that feeling. I've got about 45 minutes to go till I'm off. Speaking of that I was very sad to see no manual. I would have figured if anyone would have had one and a good one it would have been Blizzard.
You get Legendaries through out the game across all difficulties, on all acts and on all MPs.There is no shortage of Legendaries in this game, no need to worry on that front.
I wished they had increased the movement speed cap from equipments/skills. A lot of the legendaries you will find have movement speed bonus but will be useless as you would've already hit the 24% movement speed cap.

First time player (Witch Doctor, solo) with 2 questions:
- I've a weapon but...does it do anything? My main attack is a blow gun but my dude can hold weapons in his hand.
- Is there any penalty for dying at all? I can just res at my corpse and be back at it in 5 seconds.

Die enough times, your armour breaks and needs to be repaired. Later on when your gear gets very expensive, so does your repair cost
The core gameplay has always been fun as far as I'm concerned. I know this is going to hook me again... if I can just... get to the TV! D:
