I originally thought it was Ghostbusters 3, but last week the Rock and Kevin Hart's new movie was filming like 2 blocks from my house.

Holy shit!! It looks amazing! Close, but not exactly the same. Excellent.

THIS IS SO CUTE. Oh my god <3 I love it!

Only $4800. Also new rings, mufflers, a little wiring.
Needs some suspension work and shocks. Brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end.

You're killin' me here. That is just so expencive for most used cars, even now, and I always empathize with Venkman's shocked look when Ray tells him how much he dropped on it, L O L

Looks fine to me, heaps of haters on the GB fan pages on facebook but I don't know what they are expecting, it's a good homage while being somewhat original.

If they used the old one, the fanboys would complain.
If they modernized it with new car, they'd complain.
They use something with the same age gap as the original, they complain.

Here's the base car that Feig posted on his Twitter

As a hardcore GB fan, I have to admit I'm liking where this is headed. At the same time, I also think all the original stuff (uniforms/packs/car) still look better than the new stuff. I'm wondering if he's doing that on purpose? The original Ecto-1 car to this day looks awesome, even though it's 1954 car, I can't say the same about the new car. I don't hate it or anything, but it just doesn't feel as cool, if that makes any sense. Same with the new Proton Packs, they just don't feel AS cool as the original stuff.

I was worried they were going to go modern or futuristic looking equipment.

Love that the suits look like firefighters and the proton pack still looks bodged together.

I'm glad they went old with Ecto 1 but they can't top the original, it was a sexy machine.

Agreed. The real test will be to see it in motion and on the big screen so it might improve there, but I agree with you that I don't think the new proton packs, uniforms, or vehicle look as good as the originals.

The good thing is a lot of stuff can look better on the silver screen than it does if you saw it in real life.

Holy SHIT

Feig said he wasn't going to have an Ecto-1. I am shocked as hell and I LIKE IT. If it's actually an '84 that's even more amazing.

I'm beginning to wonder if either Feig was trying to throw everyone off (he specifically said there wouldn't be an Ecto-1, and that their proton packs would be sleek and futuristic looking) or if maybe he got some kind of outside pressure or persuasion to not stray so far off the path?

I'm inclined to believe the former, honestly, especially with how he's been interacting with fans on Twitter and sharing pictures and schematics.

Feig-y Feig-y Feig-y, you have been a bad monkey!

Agreed with this. The new stuff looks fine, but at the same time the old stuff still looks cooler even to this day. The mechanical stuff on the new Ecto and proton packs look more like found objects haphazardly thrown together while the old stuff looked more designed. Maybe that't the point though. The new Ecto's base car otherwise looks great though.

Filming a movie that is well known for being in New York, and putting terrible Kristen Wiig in it.

This is one big giant never from me. Even the TMNT reboot didn't make me hate it before it came out. I will never watch this movie. Change the name from Ghostbusters and make it some dumb comedy about ghosts and it's a different story.

Fuck everything about this movie.

So what you're saying is that you didn't hate TMNT, a movie primarily starring guys, but you do hate this Ghostbusters, a movie primarily starring girls?

hmmmmmmm

The new car looks cool but gives off this weird "I couldn't afford a real replica of the original so I used this car that I could afford" vibe that probably won't go away until I actually see the movie, assuming it ever does. The original was just too iconic.

Okay, and if they do that then everyone else will piss and moan about it being unoriginal.
