Damn felt bad for Lucy there towards the end. Next week looks to be a very fun episode and shit wow God laid it all down to have him go back.

There is still free choice right? Just that God tries to hamper him (allthough if he knew he was going to leave hell then there is no free choice?).

Anyhow, good EP.

Another solid ep. Figured that might happened to her, but damn that timing!

Wait, what? What the fuck...
Yeah, what I heard was the post-production team are behind and there's no scheduling space on Fox or something.

How true that was I don't know, but either way, we're getting the original 13 episodes that were ordered. The extras which Fox ordered later will be coming in May.

Thought I was subbed to this OT. o_O Apparently not.

Another good episode, glad that was secret wasn't dragged out, going by the preview next week's should be fun.

For a sexual god and a woman who made a softcore porno(Hot Tub High School) and has a kid, Lucy and Chloe have got to be the most emotionally awkward "will they/won't they" couple I've ever seen.

Can't wait for the next episode.

Great episode, I hope next episode has Lucifer going back to hell to beat the crap out of that doctor dude and get an antidote for Chloe, then he comes to the rescue and gives the middle finger to God.

That was great.

And, I am so glad they didn't leave us hanging on
whether or not Lucifer was going to make it back from Hell, or if Chloe was going to live or die.
Much more satisfying that way.

Does anyone know why they're taking another break so soon? Fox is also doing the same with Gotham. I just don't understand what the plan is supposed to be. How do you keep an audience like this?

EDIT: Oh, oops, Zafir had kinda answered that above...

Seems very strange that this is happening to at least two shows at once, though.

I thought it was because premiering 24/APB in that slot, and FOX always liked running 24 straight through w/ no breaks.

And probably (rightfully so) think Lucifer/Gotham pair well

That was probably what they were referring to when they said there was no space for it in the schedule I guess.

Third season, let's go!!!

“Lucifer is one of those rare shows that starts strong out of the gate and just keeps getting better and better,” said Fox entertainment president David Madden. “Tom, Lauren and the entire cast have really made these characters three-dimensional, and the production team – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – is one of the best in the business.”
Full 22 episode order, too. :D

I've got a question.

I watched the pilot and I liked it.

But I'm a bit worried, does this go in the direction of generic he becomes nicer/less of a dick and falls in love with cop lady direction?

Pretty much. Though he's still kinda a dick.

"Falls in love with cop lady"? Yeah, kind of and pretty much. She fascinates and perplexes him and that puts Lucifer on a path with lots of bumps, twists, and turns along the way.

"Nicer/less of a dick" though? Nah. He's moved the needle on being selfish but it's still Lucifer.

The ensemble cast is amazing.

Guess I should cath up on Lucifer. I watched half of S1, and liked it. Not sure why I stopped watching.

My favorite character is the psycholgist.

Hm... 1/2 isn't bad, I'll give season 1 a chance then. Judging by the posts on page 1 I'm far gone just for enjoying the pilot so it should be alright.

A 3rd season with 22 episodes is fantastic news. I loved Lucifer from the pilot but was afraid for it since Fox tends to cancel a lot of the shows I like. Hopefully we'll get more of Lucifer's renditions to other songs.

Recently caught up on the second season of this after enjoying the first. Show has become straight fire, I never thought they'd actually head more in this direction (which I'll describe as the politics of heaven and being outfront with the whole demons/angels thing) and be rewarded for it.

Constantine still got cut down too soon, but if it had to happen to save this, it's a bargain I'm going to have to take I guess.

I hope we get to meet Azreal soon. She has to be looking for that blade.

When D.B. Woodside showed back up on Suits recently, I knew his excuse about "moving to Chicago" was another of Amenadiel's lies.

- EW: Fox trims Lucifer season 2, moves remaining episodes to season 3.
Lucifer‘s second season has been trimmed to 18 episodes, with the four remaining episodes of the original 22 episode order to air in the fall, EW has confirmed.

Coshowrunner Joe Henderson confirmed the news on Twitter on Thursday, explaining that the four remaining episodes are character-driven stand-alone hours that will air sometime during the third season. “We designed this season to be an 18-episode arc because we originally were going to be 18 episodes,” Henderson wrote. “But then we got four more! Surprise! So we decided to create four episodes that let us play around a bit. Dig deeper into the character stories, play with format a bit, etc.”
The move won’t affect how season 2 will close. “End of season 2 is still exactly what we planned,” Henderson writes. “And it is crazy awesome, if you don’t mind me saying so.” It also doesn’t sound like the four stand-alone episodes will air at the beginning of season 3 either, with Henderson noting, “We know where they’ll slot in season 3 and how they’ll affect story, etc. They won’t feel very stand-alone because they are so character-focused.”

So in other words, we get more episodes in May which admittedly does finish the story arc and then we get to wait again till fall to see the remaining season episodes?

What a mess if that's the case!

Don't see how it's a mess. Sounds like to me they moved 4 episodes that weren't related to the overall story arc to season 3. Not that big a deal.

Yeah. What's weird is that they got their order expanded only to have the episodes moved, but they were standalone. The arc we care about is finishing, and had they not come out and said anything we probably wouldn't have been able to tell they did this. Happens sometimes.

Tom Ellis weighs in:

Just to be clear...this is not bad news! It's a scheduling decision BUT because you guys love us so much you've got 26 eps in season 3!!!✌

The last 5 episodes of season 2 will air starting in may.....THEN season 3 starts in the autumn without the 'strange' airing break. Simple

It sucks but it's awesome for Season 3? I'm in a hellish prison of emotion.

I mean it is rather messy when you consider all the breaks as well. It went on a break before, then we got 3/4 more episodes, then it went on break again till may and now some episodes have been moved into a new season instead.

That said, hopefully Season 3 won't be as messy since it's a full season right from the beginning. Also it's airing from Autumn, so at least the breaks will finally be over outside of the usual "US scheduled breaks" that every US TV show seems to take.

We got told before that there was 22 episodes in Season 2 after they ordered more, so people would have noticed. :p

Well...if season three was also going to be a 22 episode order...these four make the 26 episodes Tom mentions.

It might have screwed with their pacing to air these inbetween during the final part of the arc or end the arc and then have four seemingly random episodes, and now they have them to fill holes with if they're totally standalone. Flashback episodes or what not. If you're trying to do seasonal arcs you can't shut up shop and restart as easily.

You know, for random out of the blue scheduling issues that might pop up that are not in any way foreseen and no one should talk about.

This show took an almost 2 months long break then aired 3 episodes only to take another 3 months break. Why exactly did they do that? I've read the comments above but didn't really understand, the production is already done right ?

It's Fox playing around with scheduling. I mean right now they have 24 and APB in the Gotham/Lucifer slot. Those both bombed, so I expect they won't do anything like that next year.
