If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Quick Note - Zen Pinball 3D is 5€, at least that's the price tag shown in the eShop.

I will buy the hell out of zen pinball.

@ nintendo: Why on bloody earth can't I transfer the best DSiware game over to my 3DS: Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon

why? why?? WHY? any reason at all?

Probably something to do with rights ownership ever since Fuse Games became Silverball Studios.

Funnily enough, I was actually able to transfer over Pinball Pulse onto my 3DS at launch! I have it on my 3DS right now :D

Too bad that Zen Pinball/Pinball FX sucks. Will wait for The Pinball Arcade instead (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=449489)

The physics are off and I find the tables to be boring. Your mileage may vary though, a lot of people really like it. I'm just not one of them.

I wish I had met you and the other person who dislikes PFX2 before the XBLA sale :(

It took playing tables at length instead of just trials to realize I agree 100%.

How did you manage to transfer Pinball Pulse? I transferred my games over right when that transfer feature launched, but couldn't transfer Pinball Pulse.

Dear customer,

On account of the upcoming system update, which will be available by 8 December, Nintendo eShop will be unavailable for a limited period while the main server undergoes essential maintenance.

Once work on the server has been completed and you have performed the update on your Nintendo 3DS system, you will be able to visit Nintendo eShop as usual and take advantage of the new features. A SpotPass notification summarising all the improvements to Nintendo eShop will be sent out soon.

To view this week's Nintendo Download in its full graphical version, please visit: http://www.news2know.net/nintendo/downloadZ3M29t51.php

In addition to video games available at retail stores, Nintendo also offers a variety of content that people can download directly to their systems. Nintendo adds new titles to the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS system, to the Nintendo DSi Shop for the Nintendo DSi system and to the Wii Shop Channel for the Wii console at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Thursdays.

The Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service and features games, applications and videos in both 2D and 3D. Users can add money to their virtual wallets using a credit card or by purchasing a Nintendo 3DS Prepaid Card at a retail store and entering the code from the card.

The Wii Shop Channel offers games and applications and uses Wii Points™, which can be purchased via the Wii Shop Channel. The Nintendo DSi Shop offers games and applications and uses Nintendo DSi Points™, which can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. A Wii Points Card™ and Nintendo DSi Points Card™ can be purchased at retail locations. All points from one card must be redeemed in either the Wii Shop Channel or the Nintendo DSi Shop, respectively. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.

Remember that Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DSi feature parental controls that let adults manage some of the content their children can access. For more information about this and other features, visit http://www.nintendo.com/wii, http://www.nintendo.com/3ds or http://www.nintendo.com/ds/systems/dsi.
Double Bloob was developed by a subsidiary of Nibris Software. SADNESS INCOMING?!?!?!?!?!

Just curious, does Zen Pinball have any DLC available? I remember the devs saying the release of the game was contingent on Nintendo adding DLC support, yet they delayed the firmware update and the game still came out. Hmm.

The game is certainly developed with DLC in mind, as the main menu/ table select and the actual tables are completely seperate. But there's no DLC yet and no built in store option or anything. We'll see how that turns out. Nintendo allows feature updates to eShop titles now though, so a storefront might be added when DLC becomes available.

So, Zen Pinball 3D is a really well done port. Weird selection of tables, though. 3D in the menus is a bit much, but looks really nice ingame. Load times are still pretty terrible, just like on PS3. Well, not quite as bad, but still pretty bad. DLC will be added "soon", according to Zen Studios.

They were probably planning on having some day 1 DLC, but then Nintendo delayed the firmware update.

We'll see next week.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.

Also, at 540 blocks it's the second largest 3dsware to date, AFAIK.

yeah, just downloaded pinball zen as well some hours ago.
played it almost 2 hours straight and I really like it so far.

physics are a bit off and the table selection seems to be wierd (why 2 similar themed tables?) but overall it's good fun and the 3D is one of the best I've seen so far.
to bad there's no option to display the table over both screens. sometimes it's hard to spot the ball. the zooming 3D-view eases that pain a bit though.
still, doesn't come even close to the pinball primus "Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon" but then again, no other pinball game does.

recommended (especial for the cheap price)

oh btw: I had to laugh at the voice acting of the table "Excalibur". They voice actor clearly tried to imitade the allmighty Brian Blessed's "Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon"'s male voice. to bad he fails hard and it sounds more funny than anything else

Well, it looks like Nintendo is finally getting the hang on sending spotpass notifications about new interesting stuff in the eShop, at least for Europe. I just received one about Zen Pinball.

Took them... how much? 6 months?

I'll probably get Adventure Island out of today's bunch.

December update details from Nintendo Power via everyone's favorite banned Nintendo blog.
1. 3D Video, and 3D Stop Motion animation videos.

2. QR code functionality will be improved

3. Transfer game files between Nintendo 3DS systems

4. New puzzles and extra Find Mii Dungeon

5. eShop will be expanded as well,You'll soon have access to game demos(for both downloadable games and retail games)

6. You'll be able to download software while your system is in Sleep Mode

7. The eShop will also support Download Codes (which will be used primarily for special promotions) and will enable users to save payment information to their system if they so so desire

8. The update will add a new application to your system's Home Menu:"Nintendo Zone" active when you're at a Nintendo 3DS hotspot location.Provides free access to exclusive content, streaming 3D videos(such as game trailers,tv ads) trivia games, and retail promotions

Thank you for the kind words, my friend.

You do a great job on site. Keep it up.

I got Adventure Island and I just breezed through the first Island. It's not Kirby's Dreamland easy, but it's nowhere near as hard as the GC/Wiiware version or the NES and SNES games. I think I also saw slowdown with just 1 enemy on screen once. >_> It's still pretty cool though.

I was able to transfer it, too. Didn't have to do anything special. Maybe it's an Aussie thing.

No, I managed to do it here in good ol blighty too. Not sure how though because it doesn't even appear in the store for me lol!

Not surprising, really.
Of course the Spanish site was just a mis-wording.

Bet they come out on the 22nd, though.

They're so kind! Offering us them as a "surprise" Xmas present (you shouldn't have!) I can just see the PR now

Only Zen Pinball? I got one for Freakyforms, too.

For anyone who doesn't know, Adventure Island for the GB is a modified port of Adventure Island II from the NES. Similarly Adventure Island II for GB is a modified version of Adventure Island III for NES. The level designs aren't exactly the same so it's worth considering even if you have the NES games, but it is worth mentioning.

If I delete one of my NES Ambassador games will I be able to download it again? I don't see a reason to keep NES Golf on my home screen, but I don't necessarily want to forfeit my ownership of it forever.

Actually, the same question for any eShop game.

Yes, they are on the Your Downloads page on the eShop.

A new episode (episode 6) of Nintendo Show 3D is up today on the American eShop.

- Talk about the life size Mario Kart done by West Coast Customs. Short interview as well.
Covered the following games.
- Mario Kart 7 (3DS)
- Catrap (GameBoy)
- Mega Man (GameBoy)
- Cave Story 3D (3DS)
- Exclusive clip is of Mario Kart 7.

The ending clips are of pizza being made and fish.

Sorta OT since this is an older DSiware game. So, I think I've gotten worse at gaming since I was young.

I bought Rayman 3D on Black Friday. I had $10 in unused store credit and Rayman was $15, effectively $5. Aside from a couple technical issues I loved it and beat it at 100% completion in about two days. (First time ever playing Rayman 2)

The next day I still had the Rayman itch and bought the original off the eShop after reading that it was a near-prefect port. I played it and loved it as a kid...one of my favorites when I had my PS1. Dear god this game is HARD . Even with the addition of the mini-map I still constantly die.

Getting worse at gaming or is the OG Rayman actually pretty difficult? It's still probably the best DSiware game I've played.

I loved the real life Mario Karts.

Also: "What's wrong with you?"

New Nintendo catch phrase?

No, you're not getting worse at gaming; the original Rayman is an extremely, extremely hard game, too much so I think. I love the rest of the franchise, and Rayman 2 in particular, but the first one is excessively hard, really.

Good to know. I'm still amazed at how well this holds up graphically. The animation is top notch and the "nintendo colors" are gorgeous. Some of the best art I've ever seen in a game.

Hopefully I'll finish this before Christmas since I know my lady bought me the 360 version of Origins.
