Cool, thanks, that's what I read online.

And before 2023 I'll just buy something better anyway xD

Can't wait to jump back in, my VR backlog is pretty big.

And I still have to play HL Alyx.

That's even better if you have a cable link to PC and a beefy PC, which I don't, lol. Enjoy your headset! I prefer it to the rift S.

Yeah, that's what I plan to do. I think it might even be a big upgrade, since the last headsets I used were the first Oculus consumer edition and the first Vive.

Wireless PCVR is the way to go if your wifi router is up for it. Playing Half Life Alyx without wires is amazing and very liberating.

Just preloaded Asgard’s Wrath. I will probably test the waters today or tomorrow but won’t really jump in until I beat Cyberpunk.

The reviews got me hyped.

Haha my bad should have said loaded. Game is old. I just downloaded it so it’s ready to fire up whenever I am ready to jump in.

Stoked I got it for free as well because of the promotion.

I got it for free as well, but had to speak with support since i bought quest 2 at launch

Same.

They closed my ticket earlier and I just finished the download. I’ll probably play it through virtual Desktop instead of using the link. I know the link is better but I can’t go back to being tethered especially after play Alyx wirelessly.

Do standard quest games improve if I connect them to PC? I have a very powerful tower and I was thinking of hooking up my Quest 1 to try out Alyx or some other games, but I love to run around my room too much so being tethered to the PC doesn't appeal to me. Thoughts?

Link câble is required right?

Usb-c cable is needed for your pc to recognize the quest is attached and in link mode. Then you can download the game from the oculus store.

To play the game you need a PC with the specs to run it. You can play with the link or wirelessly through virtual desktop.

Virtual desktop is what you want. You can play wirelessly.

They recommend fancy routers but I use the default one from my cable company with very little lag. 5ghtz wireless is a must though.

5ghtz means 5G? I don't have much knowledge in this regard. I know my new home has a 5G router so I would try it there. Also, can you improve the quality of the native quest games? I really enjoy some of them but the low res and low picture quality is quite annoying and makes me feel queasy after a while.

Yes 5G is what I mean. Your router should work just fine long as your tower is hard wired into the router.

As for base quest games the only boost you can do is increase the VR screen refresh rate from 72htz to 90htz. This helps a lot with the queasiness.

It would be great if developers gave Quest games a boost when running Through Oculus link. Hopefully this will be a feature coming in the future.

you dont need 5ghz. I use VD on my 2.4 ghz with no problem and my bit rate set to 85. occasionally i may have a lil micro stutter in HL alyx that i dont get on 5ghz but for the most part if you are reletivly close to your router 2.4 will work

Still in the first dungeon of Asgard’s Wrath and it immediately reminds me of Zelda in VR. I am hooked. Is there an OT? I searched and couldn’t find one.

Dash dash world is a great mario Kart type of game.

Pistol whip is AMAZING!!

mini golf is a ton of fun online and th dev just released new maps

Lone echo is hands down the my visually stunning/life like game/VR game I've ever played

Population one visually is bad, it looks like a mobile game but is fun

The vader immortal games are nice but they are too dark and it's more like an interactive movie

No, BUT some games do offer cross-buy, which means if you look up the PC versions on the Oculus store, they'll appear as free.

Not every game offers this. Beat Saber and Superhot notably do not.

They're very much like an interactive movie, compared to Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, but it's quite good as such. Like it actually has a great script and some cool setpieces and feels like playing a Star Wars movie and that's pretty dope.

Some games offer cross buy so if you buy it on the beast set store you will get them in the oculus/rift pc store and vice versa. You want to check to see if it shows supports oculus and supports rift, this means you will have cross buy.

Nah, Pistol Whip is more like Time Crisis meets Beat Saber. Levels are songs and enemies arrive to the beat of the music, but you aren't actually required to play to the beat except in as much as it feels cool to do that.

It's pure arcade, attacking levels for high scores. It did add a new story mode, which is basically the same thing but with cut scenes in between, but there's a good amount of content there.

Zelda? It's much more like God of War in vr wait till you get the axe...
Zelda in the fact that you will need certain skills to access specific parts of a dungeon/area and might have to come back around later.

It is still early so my assessment could be wrong. The story is for sure more in line with God of War and the opening set peace was pretty sweet. Game is looking very meaty and i already spent more time in game than intended.

there's nothing specific about Zelda in that

I hate that kids have been brainwashed to believe games started with Nintendo simply because they're the only ones still into these old formulas...

Journey of the Gods is more Zelda-like

I am far from a kid. Ocarina of Tims left a massive imprint on me from games and i am Not a fan of the new ones. There might be other games that use the same dungeons/areas locked behind items but the formula always reminds me of Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past.

Odd request. My daughter is asking for a "real life unicorn" for Christmas. My wife got the idea of seeing if there's anything out there where she can see a unicorn in VR, maybe walk around one?

I've checked side quest, oculus store, steam and can't find anything like this. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Everything for girls nowadays is unicorns, glitter, rainbows, right? So fucking weird!

boy, I love getting new honk sounds in Dash Dash World and honking with the silliest sounds as I pass the kids :messenger_tears_of_joy:

they squeak a lot in their microphones (you can often also hear their mother in the background), but otherwise don't do much noise...

I guess the cartoon aesthetics of the game won't attract many adults, but it's by far the best racing fun on Quest. It's 8-player online mayhem (bots when not enough players) and all the assorted dirty tricks you've come to expect from MK. drifting is better than in most racing games and track design is really very well done...

So far, from my experience with Oculus Quest 2 (using a PC as well), my favorite game i would say is Superhot VR, followed by The Room VR Dark Matter and Half Life Alyx. Thats the holy trinity.

I only have Quest games (no gaming PC), but I would add Beat Saber and Eleven Table Tennis to that. I almost have to force myself to play other games, I've been having so much fun with those two for hours on end.

Superhot is amazing while it lasts, but it didn't have quite the same staying power for me. The campaign is quickly finished, and while endless is cool it's not as infinitely replayable as those other games IMO. Would love a Superhot 2...

Those two are in the top 10 for sure. I'll add:

-Google Earth
-Pistol Whip
-The Lab (From Valve)
-The Walking Dead: Saint and Sinners
-Rez Infinite
-Tetris Effect
-Thumper
-Alien Isolation
-Moss
-Trover Saves the Universe

I thought you were full of shit about The Room. I just bought it and had a simple test session turn into 4 hours. Game is fantastic and probably my second favorite.

Its amazing. A really chill game and a perfect VR experience, which in my opinion are the games with a slow pace where there's a lot of "hand interaction". And its a perfect time to buy it since is on sale with a 33% discount.
