Wait what?
He got teased in the ending 😄
Wait what?
- I hate the baby Groot "thing" they're going for, it feels like a 2 hour Funko Pop ad. I get it, he's "cute", fuck off.
Ehhhhhhhh I wouldn't say that. GotG 1 had a lot going for it that when you watched it when it came out it was refreshing. This movie was good, but just good. If you're more prone to emotions you may enjoy it more. It was ok for what it was.So easily better than GoTG 1 then?
This was annoying.Baby Groot was really overdone. Glad he is going to be an adult in the next one.
NoSo, the villain in this is actually good?

i think he was good. kurt russel acted well (in particular the "i just spread my seeds around all over the world" and "planted tumor in your moms brain" reveal.. man he was so likeable before that reveal and i was asking myself what could possibly go wrong) and the villain actually was really powerful this time. also he is immortal so he may return.
That's an interesting perspective, but from my point of view Ego and Thanos share more in common than you'd initially think:
Both are extremely powerful cosmic beings with desires to bend the universe to their will.
Both view other life as lesser than themselves.
Both groom their children to take up that will at the expense of their own agency.
Both ultimately view their children as expendable assets to be used as a means to an end.
But then with Ego he chooses to propogate with as many species in the universe (lol just like Peter) with the hopes that one of his spawn will become a Celestial like himself. Those that aren't are tossed aside as failures and basically drained of their life to replenish Ego's energy. The one being he falls in love with he gives a brain tumour in order to remove all possibility of giving up his plans in favour of love. When Peter rejects Ego's will he drops all pretense and the fatherly facade falls away to reveal him to be far more self serving and dare I say it egotistical. I'm just saying, Ego is all kinds of fucked up.
The whole point of the film is that family is not simply the blood coursing through your veins, but rather the ones that raise you, stick by you and make you a stronger individual.
He's immortal as long as the light shines. Groot knocked out that light with Rocket's bomb.

Best part was how Draxs was showing subtle hints of both happiness and sadness yet mantis was breaking down at the sadness she felt from him.the one scene with mantis where he says to her that he considers her to be butt ugly but if someone is ugly and you love em that means the love is real... that was really well delivered. also the one scene where he talks about his daughter... the delivery was strong there as well.
Supposingly the original version of the Guardians of the Galaxy teamWho are thesupposed to be?people in the post credits tease with Stallone

Budweiser cameo.
I think Taserface would have worked better if he was actually like, introduced as Taserface at some point much earlier before the coup, and it allowed the audience to naturally laugh at him a few times while everyone in the film just played it straight. Instead the entire joke from the start is "OMG YOUR NAME IS TASERFACE ROFLMAO, GUY EVERYONE THIS GUY'S NAME IS TASERFACE!"
It's not that the joke isn't funny, but when you start a joke by explaining it and then spamming it again and again, it's definitely kinda... stupid.
You almost walked out during the opening credits? Sure.

I still think many of his scenes were overindulgent, but that scene in particular is great for how it captures Groot's innocent vulnerability in that moment. That's when you know the Ravagers had what's coming to them.I've seen some people say they were trying too hard to be cute with Baby Groot but I disagree, BB-8 in TFA is a better example of being too cute. Groot was handled just right, it was actually pretty sad when he was walking down that corridor alone after the Ravengers bullied him.
I have to say I was really disappointed with this, not that they did it just that they kind of half hearted it. Instead of having it be a moving face with ridges and peaks it was just kind of 3 light filled holes that resembled eyes and a mouth. They actually had Ego have a giant face on the planet

Would have much preferred them to go all out instead.
i gotta give a shout out to dave bautista.
man that guy as a wrestler was so bad at acting. he was a good goon of triple h but as his own character he always felt lacking.
same with the other movies i saw him in. in spectre he basically was a hulking machine but not much more and even in the original gotg he had funny lines but the delivery wasnt always on point.
in this movie he kills it to an extent that he is one of the absolute highlights. it is finally believable that he is just someone that is so out of concept that he would do or say the stupidest things and still mean it sincerely.the one scene with mantis where he says to her that he considers her to be butt ugly but if someone is ugly and you love em that means the love is real... that was really well delivered. also the one scene where he talks about his daughter... the delivery was strong there as well.

Apparently young Kurt is mostly practical effects, impressive if true
Also I guess peter and the gang can no longer hold an infinity stone.
Shame that
Gunn has said in interviews that he expects Stallone at least, but I imagine by extension the other cameos, to play a larger role in Cosmic Marvel down the line. Who knows whether that's Vol 3 or other films set in that area of the MCU.So, question about one of the post-credit scenes:
Stallone and the original Guardians show up. Are they teasing them for the next movie? Or was it just a fun little thing for fans?
BTW, with the Adam Warlock reveal, can we deduce that finally all the Infinity Gems are show in MCU?...
I think everyone did. When he started about his goals it got iffy, but the deal was sealed when he told Peter that if he went back a fourth time he would lose sight of his goal.i totally saw the part wherecomingkurt revealed he killed peter's mom

Peter's immediate visceral reaction to that revelation was so satisfying. Just another sign of Ego's complete lack of empathy for anyone but himself.I think everyone did.
