Just woke up after like a 2 hour night of sleep, these winds tho.....sounds like ghosts in my back yard. I dont even know where the eye is at yet. Aguadilla here btw.
Puerto Rico radar knocked out? My various feeds are now showing blank.
Do you have a link to those images since I can't read them? If that's feet in the left axis then.. wow it seems ridiculously high.Flash flooding is a life threatening concern currently; rivers have already hit record and it hasn't stopped raining:
Makes sense considering most of these rivers rest on mountain sides..Do you have a link to those images since I can't read them? If that's feet in the left axis then.. wow it seems ridiculously high.

It is feet. I don't know if it authentic yet due to how hard it is to get info out during a storm like this but there is a video on his site also showing supposedly flash flooding through a town (and its bad...)

If the flooding is that bad already then that's just terrible since it's going to rain for hours yet.
But how long will storm surge be a factor?
idk if my puerto rican friends on fb are okay. a few live in mayaguez. some in san juan. trying to find a way to contact them to see if the are okay.
The hurricane is right on top of them right now, communications are going to be minimal or nonexistent for several hours probably still.
So PR seems pretty bad if the news is not over doing it like always
The GOES satellite view is showing the center emerging off the northern coast now and it looks like a cleared eye will quickly emerge.

WOW!!!
Havent been able to get in touch with most of my family in PR, but the few pictures Ive seen on social media of my hometown (Ciales) dont look good.
I used to eat at that restaurant in the last picture all the time as a kid.
The complete power loss isn't particularly surprising with how shit the power infrastructure is in PR to begin with.
Hopefully they use this situation to bring the power grid into the modern age.
Congress better be ready to step up like they did for Texas and Florida....
I won't hold my breath.
it would be a bad look to drop the ball on PR

I don't think the people who currently run the government give a flying fuck about Puerto Rico or its people.

I believe they are under a state of emergency and health emergency, also they are American citizens. I doubt they'd want to fuck this up.
