Thanks to Cosmonaut X for starting the Nintendo Downloads threads tradition!

Will QA for food.
Speaking of Bomberman Hero, I notice the Wikipedia entry has Bomberman 64 as 'released' on Virtual Console. I checked all regions, and didn't see it on the Wiki list for games. Did it somehow release when I wasn't looking?

They never said it was coming in the beginning of the month.

But, yeah.
Oh, i asked because a lot of people said "on the November 4th update" some time ago. I still think the updates were on Tuesday, so that could be a good day, probably the 29th.

Yes.

Edit: Europe too.

Nintendo Australia said the update's scheduled for November 22.

Also, there's a bunch of first-party eShop stuff that's either received a release window or a firm release date, like 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure.

I think the confussion came because some Nintendo Europe branch said November 4th, but it has been denied everywhere else.

NoE later corrected themselves and said that's when they're revealing the details of the update.

Oh boy, I'm sorry, haha. I guess I didn't pay much attention to your post.

Maybe Konami will start milking the franchise...

Really cool video of the Zelda orchestra performing the Zelda Main theme Medley on Nintendo video today. Sounds great.

So I picked up Anima: Ark of Sinners last night. And you know what? It's not that bad.

Granted, it's incredibly mediocre, but it's wholly playable and even enjoyable so long as you accept that it's a bare-bones action-platformer. Truth is, that video review we were subjected to last thread ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_IHlLgPOA4 ) is wrong on a few aspects.

Him jumping into a pit because the character doesn't jump right? Not an issue in the full game for me. He also complains about the combat system being sluggish, which it is, but it's nothing you can't account for with liberal use of the dive maneuver.

The biggest problem for me is how similar the levels all look, sound and play. It feels like the kind of game that will stretch too little too thin to be enjoyed in full over the course of the entire adventure. The lack of wrinkles being added to combat and absence of new general abilities (double jump, etc) is a little boring because the formula is so basic by itself.

I'd project I'll give it a C when I write my full review, based on this experience so far. It's not great, but it's not bad either, just a little uninspired.

For more information about this and other features, visit http://www.nintendo.com/wii, http://www.nintendo.com/3ds or http://www.nintendo.com/ds/systems/dsi.
Balloon Kid is pretty good from what I remember, it's more of a traditional sidescroller rather than a single screen arcade-style game. LOL @ the rest of the releases. When's Monster World IV coming out?

The Horizon Riders demo has been removed from the US Wii shop. I suspect the FAST Racing League one will be gone as well in a week.

the famicom one (the hello kitty rebranded one lol) had really choppy scrolling and really terrible, boring level design. is this pretty much the same? because the mechanics are squandered if so.

Although it wasn't listed in the PR for some reason, the US also got Cut the Rope on DSiWare today, for 500 points.

So we got the black and white Balloon Kid instead of the color remake Japan got? I was really hoping it would be an easy localization and they'd throw us a bone there.

To anyone who's played it, how is it? I've heard it compared to Balloon Trip, but I can't get very far in that.

Also waiting for more 3DSWare. I'm happy just knowing we're getting Mighty Switch Force, but I'm losing hope for Picross-e, which I want oh-so-badly.

Balloon Kid is kind of like Balloon Fight, but much better. It's much easier, has way better controls, better graphics, ect. In Balloon Kid you start off with 2 balloons and float along towards the left with A while the screen scrolls left much like in Balloon Fight. In BK though, you can press B and let go of your balloons and run around and jump with A making it a sort of platformer. You can then blow up more balloons by tapping down on the d-pad. Certain spots in the game will require you to let go of your balloons to get through and blow up more balloons to float over an upcoming stretch of water or something.

I don't think they'll want to release the only remaining Game Boy Zeldas yet.

It's a very fun little platformer. It's similar to Balloon Trip in that the screen scrolls automatically from right to left, but it's much easier. If you lose your balloons, you can run and jump as in a normal platformer, but you won't get far that way. You have to blow up more balloons, which you can do by pushing down repeatedly. There are four worlds as far as I remember, with bosses at the end. The stages are fairly varied and clever, but it won't take long to get to the end. I have the original release on GB, and came to the last boss many times. Never managed to beat him, though.

Yeah, I'm disappointed that we got the original version rather than the colorized update that Japan got, but I guess it's not much of a surprise.

Regardless, the game is a pretty fun and unique platformer, in my opinion. It's definitely on the easy side, but that's not to say it's a Kirby game. It's also kind of short. Still, it's a game I come back to pretty often.

I'd buy them again. Playing through them both back-to-back with linked quests both ways in download form would be great. :)

Oh man, I was hoping for the color version too.
Only played the black & white version - How is it? One of Nintendo's most underappreciated gem, methinks. I love that game. Fun level design, lovely characters (that I sure wish they would return too, we need more heroines!), lovely music and actually the graphics are kinda nice too. It's difficult as hell, but it's just so damn fun. Highly recommended.

And I just rememberd that it scrolls from right to left, never seen a platformer that does that.

The short clip of Ace Combat during the Nintendo Show 3D looked really good! Its a shame the game releases two days after mario. Also there's a Skyward Sword trailer added to the Zelda 25th Ann. section on the eshop. Kinda odd watching a trailer for a wii game on the 3ds eshop but cross platform promotion is good I guess.

I agree that Ace Combat looked beautiful.

Balloon Kid, though! Maybe they read my survey responses after all.

Cut the Rope released today in North America despite not being mentioned at all in the press release or NOA's website. Good job Nintendo.

Whaa?

Drat. I knew I needed to log into the store today.. time to update the spreadsheet.

(Grumble)

Edit: Added to speadsheet. DSiWare. Weird how it was missed.

From looking at its appearance on the Nintendo Channel, I think they planned Cut the Rope to be released last week. Something must have come up at the last second to delay it. While it was not announced, it has been hinted at a release soon. Odd to not put it in PR, but *shrug*

Cut the Rope for DSiWare has five boxes, totaling 125 levels. Not bad.

The Ace Combat clip did look good. I want to play this but I have to decide between it and Nano Assault at the moment since they both release on the same day. Can't afford to get both at the same time. NA is also cheaper. Even then I'm still trying to see if I can get Mario and one of them at the same time or if they both can wait.

Id like to know. Is there an update planned with the release of Skyward Sword?

If you mean a firmware update, no-one knows and no-one will know until it's out. Nintendo never, ever advertises that stuff.

There are like 8 weeks left in the year. When do you think we will get the GBA games?

My hunch says Christmas.

Although that said, I hope it's not because I'm likely to be at my parents' and on crappy metred satellite internet at that point.
