4 years cherry-picked out of the past 34? Seriously?
Those years aren't cherry picked as they are all ten years apart from each other. But yeah, just selecting four years in the span of 3.5 decades isn't really conclusive enough. But looking BoxOfficeMojo worldwide numbers for the last four years:

3 original movies, 15 adaptions and 33 sequels. If we take out the CGI kids movies then there would only be two original movies on this list, both oddly made by Christopher Nolan. Now granted, these are worldwide numbers and the global market tends to sway to more familiar things, so if you were to look at the domestic numbers (AKA: North American), you would see a little more in the way of "original" movies. But not much more.
When you look only at the top 10 numbers for each year, there definitely seems like less original movies being released in general. Nut when you look at the full year lists, the original films tend to be much lower on the lists in general.
So the real questions are...
- Will they completely change the logo, modify it, or leave it be?
- Will they keep Ray Parker Jr's song or will they use a Sony contracted singer to make a
New remix performed by Iggy Azalea featuring [insert no name music artist here].
