So, who's riding the bikes y'think in a scene where they go barreling down a city street? Melissa McCarthy and who?
Next July is when it's supposed to come out.I'm really interested what this movie will be like. All the vehicles and props are cobbled together just like the original but the reboot ones seem a bit less refined than the original as well. I wonder how this new team is formed and what kind of scientific background, if any, they may have.
When is it expected to be released to theatres again? I plan on watching it. I'm hoping it's a tremendous success. It would be nice to see the franchise grow again in done manner.
From what I can tell, yes.

The motorcycles with guns seem a bit more cartoony than I anticipated.
From what I remember, one of them is a scientist or teacher at a university, and one of them was really in to paranormal research and wrote a book about it at one point? Then she has an assistant too. Or maybe the assistant left and became the teacher?
At any rate at least two of them are scientists, possibly three (I believe the researcher has an assistant when the movie takes place), and then there's the fourth "Everyman" character.
Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Bergman (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Bergman and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.

Is GAF cool with me posting it? It's innocent enough and the car is all over Twitter.
She's beautiful.

To be honest... I kind of like it.
Proton pack photos are out there.
They look pretty lousy.
Looks pretty good to me.
I'm starting to change my mind on this movie.
Okay, and if they do that then everyone else will piss and moan about it being unoriginal.
UGH JEALOUS. That's so freakin' cool!! I wish badass stuff was filmed around here more often For the most part if somethings being filmed in the PNW it's in Vancouver :\ Blerg
This, uh, isn't thread worthy, right?
New news new thread?
At least is better than thread #65542 asking if i need to go to see the doctor because i just severed a finger
So this was going to be Ghostbusters III then they decided to reboot the franchise all together, right?
Thought so, because the "all female cast" was rumored awhile ago (2012 I think).Ghostbusters III fell apart after Harold Ramis died. So yeah.

Thank god. I actually like Hill quite a bit as a comedian after Jump Street but he was not the right fit for GhostbustersThough even before Ramis' death, Sony had been developing the project for years and had failed to find a script they were happy with (or could get talent on board with - Jonah Hill passed on it only a few months before Ramis' death, according to the leaked Sony emails).

Just making sure since long planning cycle.

I like the concept of using a car that's dated on the same scale as the original movie, it's just unfortunate that the boxy, 80's equivalent is kind of bland and nowhere near as cool or interesting looking.Looks fine to me, heaps of haters on the GB fan pages on facebook but I don't know what they are expecting, it's a good homage while being somewhat original.
If they used the old one, the fanboys would complain.
If they modernized it with new car, they'd complain.
They use something with the same age gap as the original, they complain.

The original Ecto was a 1950's Chevy Cadillac hearse, it was roughly a 30 year old car in 1984. This appears to be a early 80's Chevy Caprice hearse roughly a 30 year old car in 2015.
