It's his own class, coded from scratch earlier.Man said:He used a Bitmap3D class earlier, is that part of the standard Java EE library or Paint.NET?
Rapstah said:I can't wait for him to attempt to do collision detection on that clusterfuck of 3D code he just made. Does he really know how he did it all up to this point?
It even looks like Minecraft with the blocks. Does anyone know if he uses Java 3D for Minecraft, or something completely custom that integrates with OpenGL etc.?Acullis said:Yeah, I'm pretty sure he does anyway. The last Ludum Dare he did a similar 3d style, I'd imagine it's a very familiar concept to him.
That's all speculation of course.
Through some blog posts about Minecraft it was made pretty clear that the world in minecraft moves and never the player. This seems to be a 3D engine with the player moving around a static world going by his code. Or are the walls and ceiling/floor done differently? I missed an hour of wall coding.Blizzard said:It even looks like Minecraft with the blocks. Movement is now in, yay.
Something like "This is BAD collision detection...but it actually works! IT WORKS!" XDraphier said:heh, there is your collision detection in that clusterfuck, few lines of code
How is that possible in multiplayer servers? Seems needlessly complicated.Rapstah said:Through some blog posts about Minecraft it was made pretty clear that the world in minecraft moves and never the player.
