Mark Mac seems really really impressed with Warhawak... on the show it seemed like he enjoyed it, but he really got into it on the podcast... Can't wait for more info on this as far as when it's going on sale, beta-testing, etc, etc...
Skip... one request, please do some investigative work on PS3 Socom... there has to be some info out there on it... I have a feeling it may end up going the same route as Warhawk (supposedly just MP)...

one of the best podcasts 1up has done in months (and i've liked a lot of their recent podcasts)
that whole story on the submarine griefing and mathematical warfare was ****ing hilarious, whoever that guy was should be on every day

1upyours has humour, news, soops, rumours, everything. It's not just about 1 funny guy making fun of shit for basically 80% of the time...hell they even have this 1 dude that seems to be very timid, with a very natural nerd voice that whenever he speaks up you wonder where the **** did that guy come out.sinvce he never speaks

Tastes differ, I listen to both 1up yours and GFW radio for different reasons. I think it's safe to say neither is a piece of shit given the amount of positive feedback for both. However, improvements can be made to both as well, like for instance what you already mentioned, Ryan should talk more (and his voice doesn't bother me whatsoever btw)

The podcast is great, and it's cool to see you around here. Your problem is being lured into wearying flame wars against people who seek to do nothing but bitch and scratch. Really personal insults probably deserve a retort, but don't give these ****s the satisfaction of puncturing your calm.
There'll always another piece of shit on the internet that wants to tell you what he thinks about you. When you're done arguing with one douche, another springs up Hydra-douche-style. Just skim past the bullshit and respond to the people you want to talk more with. Dipping into discourse you enjoy makes it worth coming here, being frustrated by anonymous jerks does the opposite.

Definitely a great show this week. Love the humor Shawn brought to the show, but you can tell he got quiet when really console-centric stuff was being talked about. I was hoping he would talk more.
Mark is always good on the show because he's really level headed, which is a nice break from Shane and Garnett (I generally like those guys, but they can get a bit crazy defending their particular POVs).
Mark and Shawn definitely need to be on the show more often.

So they talk about SHIV? Good, news/commentary about sims are so rare these days. I certainly had a lot of fun playing SHIII at max realism, looking forward to that segment. I'm downloading the podcast right now.
As for the Wii.. Too bad they don't have someone that can (or wants to) be authoritative on the matter.

Not to mention there's a raving 1up fan group here. Seeing so many people fawn over 1up staff has got to be at least somewhat soothing for them, particularly if they seem to have some insecurity issues occcasionally (that's how I interpret skip's valiant efforts to respond to every negative comment about 1up). Anyway, it wouldn't be a 1up thread on GAF without the accompanying one-liner sarcastic comments from skip so don't ban him!
The GTA IV trailers looked a lot better than I was expecting it to but Shawn has a good point about the number of releases recently. Between LCS & VCS on PS2 and now this game, three GTA consoles games are being released in a span of about 16 months. Hopefully they do enough with this game to live up to people's expectations.

There are alot of intelligent people around here, but you also have alot of people who are just here to be GAF celebs. So they come up with an image and turn it all the way to 11. I am arguing with people who only get off on arguing and the most inportant thing they have to do in life is cut the grass and make sure the trash is taken out before dad gets home.
Having you guys here is pretty cool, but just like you shouldn't get sucked into GAF Game Hype, you should get sucked into GAF Flame Wars.

Look, I don't really care if they like the Wii. But Luke's refusal to acknowledge its success is ridiculous. He still thinks it's going to end up selling less than the Gamecube, that it's only selling to the Nintendo faithful, and that Wii Sports is not a killer app. For someone who enjoys sales analysis so much, he sure seems delusional in this respect.

I really dont understand all this love for Sean. The guy is SOOO ANNOYING as hell and seem have to get all kiddy psychological with everything. And just listen to him on his own podcasts where he cuts off and talks over everyone and ramble on. Please don't have him back.

If those of you kneeling at the altar of Saint Skip will notice, he laid down the personal insults first. I didn't call names until he'd taken the first shot. So wipe those stars out of your eyes, and realize that these guys can be just as guilty of instigating shit as anyone else.
I just asked a simple question, which basically boiled down to "Isn't it a double standard to laugh along with some of the tasteless comments made on 1up Yours while taking offense at tasteless comments made elsewhere?" I mean, just a week or two ago Luke was railing on that guy from GDC, calling him a douchebag (among other names), and apparently that was acceptable behavior since it wasn't edited out of the final podcast. So I have to assume he thinks that's okay - but if someone calls Luke a douchebag here at GAF, here comes skip to tell you you're over the line. If he does take offense and disagree with some of the stuff on 1up Yours, we never hear about it during the show - not once. It's just left to stand as it was stated. But we sure as hell hear about it every single time he's upset about something posted here. The point is, these guys don't really have a right to get offended over idiotic insults and lame tasteless jokes that are sometimes made here, when they're saying the same sorts of things on their podcast. It's hypocritical.
