I think the first movie is better paced and more varied in their locations, but the sequel is far more emotional than the first. So easily better than GoTG 1 then?
How exactly does Yondu die?
I know he sacrifices himself but what happens.
I wonder what role Stallone Ravager (which remind me of space expendables, lol) will have in future MCU.
I doubt they have plan to make spin off GoTG movie with Old Ravager team. my guess is they will be the army stand in for the big battle with Thanos army in Avengers 3 or 4. with Xandar having a huge chance to be demolished by Thanos soon, they'll need a new army sized group to save the day.
Rocket tells him to evacuate but he says he wants to stay behind (it's implied to watch out for Quill I guess). He gives him the last jetpack and spacesuit just in case he changes his mind, and then when Ego is exploding Quill loses his celestial powers and can't fly anymore. At that point Yondu swoops in, puts the spacesuit on him and carries him into orbit. Quill then has to helplessly watch another one of his parents die in front of him. It's an obvious beat but it's a culmination of a whole bunch of different threads that run throughout the movie: Yondu and Rocket finding common ground, Yondu and Peter's father/son dynamic, Peter's feeling about having to watch his mum die.How exactly does Yondu die?

At this point Sly is 70 years old. Even if he's super fit, he aint gonna be running around doing massive feats of strength for much longer without a lot of CG. Hell, we lost Carrie fisher at 60.
Does Mantis get any fight scenes?
So easily better than GoTG 1 then?
I can't remember more than one scene. Actually, they talked during the whole movie, even while something awesome was happening out of view. How great are the action scenes in this one?

Whoah, when did that happen?
empaths traditionally don't fight
What did people thing of the deaging cgi of Kurt Russell at the start. Just looked really off and weird to me compared to the efforts done in Ant-Man and Civil War which I thought were done pretty well in those.
I did like the part where Yondu points out how Rocket push away people who cares about him. It struck hard down as I've experienced it and unlike Peter I didn't have the strength to stay and fight for my friend.
Also, why are the Watchers a big deal? I know nothing about them.
They could have just swapped them with the rights to the X-Men series. I don't think this means anything more than that. But I'm curious as to who the Watchers are in the Marvel universe. Are they stronger than the Celestials and Eternals?People get excited about the Watchers not just because of their role in comics (e.g. Uatu warning Earth about Galactus), but because they belong to Constantin/Fox.
Watching GoTG 1 on TV at the moment
I can never work out why everyone loves it so much. After a pretty fun first 20 minutes or so it just descends into a random sci-fi movie that loses my interest pretty quickly.
Iron Man 1 was on TV a few nights ago and I watched it the whole way through for about the 10th time and it gripped me to the end. AGAIN. Easily the pinnacle of the Marvel movies.
What is the great appeal with GOTG?
It's fun, heart-warming, and looks great, scenery and action-wise
I do believe that you need to have certain type of personality to enjoy it. If you get irritated at the antics of the characters then you probably won't enjoy it since everything hinge on those characters and their relationship with each other than the plot itself, which just provided a way for them to band together against common enemy.

Is quills dad also a planet in the comic books?
Do they ever explain why Peter never visits earth? Are they really far from it? Lol. I bet he'd get a kick out of everything he's missed and pick up an iPod.
Best joke of the entire movie was probably the Zune. That thing will get more attention now than it ever had when it was out.
Holy shit, there's a Zune in this movie?
Everyone made fun of me for having a Zune instead of an iPod but I loved that thing.
