I mean... The 3DS did okay and was healthy for software so the Switch doing as well as the 3DS wouldn't be that bad.
Not at first, until they dropped the price and started adding new games, it didn't sell much.

If they didn't sold out everything -> Lmao DOA it's doomed
If they sold out everything -> Lmao just like the Wii U it will also be DOA it's doomed
If Gamespot wouldn't have reported anything -> Lmao they don't even care about the console it's DOA, doomed etc.
I preordered my basic system like 2 days before launch, never was sold out.The article says the basic system was still available for pre-order both online and in store.
And surely the blind adoration of Nintendo's new offering is neither of those things. My god at people trying to derail every single positive Switch thread. It's hilarious and pathetic at the same time.
Wii U was readily available so I find that kind of hard to believe. Are you American?I pounced on an Amazon preorder for the Switch. Whereas with WiiU, I wouldn't have gotten it until mid-2013 if it weren't for my brother surprising me with one during Christmas 2012.
Are you outside the us?
I know you're just parodying possible replies, but was it? Don't know the situation in the US, but when I walked during the afternoon into a German Saturn market and saw tons of unsold Wii Us on launch day, it dawned on me that the console will utterly flop.
Hmm. I actually saw GS was the only place that still had preorders open a few hours ago. Should've jumped on it then.
It's looking more likely I'll have to get it at a store If I find one.
I mean we will see more shipments open as we get closer to launch, especially on Amazon. And as we get closer it will last longer and longer in stock until it will no longer be an issue.Do we know when the preorders opened for the WiiU? I found this thread that says it sold out for the WiiU on september 14th.
I don't view this as a positive Switch thread thoughMy god at people trying to derail every single positive Switch thread. It's hilarious and pathetic at the same time.
Yes. Essentially 2 Million units for launch.
It sold alright but not great. E.g in Japan it was around half of what it did after the price cut. Basically XB1 level. Not at first, until they dropped the price and started adding new games, it didn't sell much.
Basics system....She thought the Wii U was going to be like the Wii in popularity and demand so she bought a bunch to sell on EBay. Odds are she just returned them when she couldn't flip them so she was just out a few hours of time.
The big question will be the 3 or 4 weeks after the switch comes out. Is it like the Wii where you had to line up for weeks and weeks if you wanted one or is it like the Wii U where you could walk into Best Buy 3 weeks after launch and grab a system off a giant pile.
I took that picture 2 days after Christmas right after the Wii U came out. The Wii U also sold out at launch.
The 3DS was a success though. I understand what you mean but that's an awful example.

My local gamestop had like 30-40 units , if not more, allocated to it. When the 360 came out I think they had 50 at launch. So not too bad all things considered. Probably helps they had the breahtaking Wii U trading deal. My friend and I who weren't even going to get one at launch both ended up getting and paying it off with nothing but trade ins.
I mean, Wii U's launch month was good, so....
So is this good? Bad? Means nothing?

Wii 2.
Tried telling you.
Good time to have something new at retail too, to leverage the increase in foot traffic (if you planned ahead!)

That doesn't sound right. By the end of 2012 1.32m Wii Us had shipped in NA, 3.06m worldwide. That GameStop had half a mil day one seems slightly unlikely.Zhuge tweets said:For those who want a reference.
GameStop had 500,000 total Wii U units at launch, all pre ordered.
1.2 million games were preordered too
Sorry, not all of us want an echo chamber.
Can someone explain this photo?
I laugh everytime I see it, but I need to know the story behind it.
Because is a positive Switch news, so they have to kill it quickly... I think. They post links that clearly says that the basic system still available for preorder..Right, so it's odd that people keep making the comparison to Wii U. It would be a comparable situation if say only the red/blue Switch sold out.
Sorry, not all of us want an echo chamber.
Haha, my exact thought. Next thought: Big demand or small shipment?
Uhhh, but wouldn't derailing every thread make it an echo chamber?? Not that I'm necessarily opposed. People should voice concerns and opinions, this just seems like a comment that doesn't make any sense.Sorry, not all of us want an echo chamber.

As we all know, shortages at launch guarantee a successful console.
