My biggest gripe:
Jill Pill (who I bet will be a pill bug or married to one). I don't mind the S3 story hook, or the fact that she's someone from BoJack's past we didn't know about, but it bugs the ever living shit out of me that she's someone from BoJack's "other TV show" that we never even knew existed. I have a hard time imagining a justifiable reason to hide that from the audience. Just seems like they decided to bolt that onto BoJack's past, was it ever even mentioned in passing?

My guess is
it is going to be a show that bombed so hard that Bojack's huge ego made him block the memories while he clung to the one show that was a success, people around him don't remember because he already is a "has been" and people barely even remember he was in Horsing around, Diane didn't mention it on the book because bojack never told her about it either, it just felt to obscurity.

If that's the case, then I don't think
working with Jill Pill again would be a good idea.

Maybe its Kelsey Jannings? I think he doesnt know who Jill Pill is. After rewatching it it seemed like he only remembered her after she got mentioned twice like "Yeah... Its that girl who wanted to do theater stuff with me" and not like "I remember her from my past".

Well, besides it being odd that Jannings would go by a different name, I have a feeling she's bitter about losing her job because of BoJack.
But yeah, there are lots of things it could be.

How did you feel about
Herb's cancer going into remission, then him dying from a car crash/peanut allergy or Todd working on Disneyland for the past five years
? That felt like a bit of a renege to me, but it was in service of an entertaining story line.
Herb didn't bother me since he still died, and the recitation of his last Tweets and the message from the car shop lavishing assurance on integrity of his brakes were good gags. If they'd had him get better and die later, I may have had different thoughts.

Disneyland worked for me because it laid the foundation for the "Squiirt" sight gag down the line. I'm easy to please like that.

Seriously, the sight gags in this show are great.

While on Kelsey...

What was up with her infautation for Todd? what do you even call that? She is a lesbian after all, i thought it was very funny, but i wanted it to go somewhere if only to explain what was going on with that.

About to start watching Moral Orel as others have mentioned it in this thread and I have volume 1 because I bought that super weird Adult Swim grab bag set years ago. Bit of a bummer the third season was never put out on dvd in the US.

Episode 11 was great although I thought the transition
from mostly awkward dialogue with the family to staying for two months was a bit far fetched.

she just thought he was adorable. Kinda like thinking a dog you see all the time is adorable

I think it was just a joke. She just found his face cute. Not 'you're attractive' cute, but 'look at the little puppy' cute. It wasn't hinting at anything deeper.

Yeah, Orel got real dark real quick. i watched the entire series online after someone recommended it. I don't really know how I felt about it, but I wasn't expecting it to swing so completely somber that fast.

Holy shit what a season

I don't think Bojack is done with Charlotte and New Mexico. What he did on prom night is going to come back to bite him.

I forgot this was a thing. I really like Will Arnett, but I watched the first two episodes of season 1 and really didn't dig the show outside of a few gags.

Should I keep watching or am I a lost cause, GAF?

Yes. This question gets answered three times a page or more, lol.

But
they never explicitly stated, at least as far as I saw, how much time passed between Bojack telling her to go to bed and Charlotte going in the boat.

But she was taking BoJack's tie off when Charlotte walked in. Why would he put his whole tux back on?

Unless you're seriously offended. In which case I apologize.

Well, I watched the whole season in a day.

Now I regret watching the whole season in a day because it was awesome and now I want more. D:

GOOD LORD THE WHOLE NEW MEXICO CHAPTER. Classic Bojack.

Two minor gripes about the season:

Kelsey Jannings being put on a bus. Felt it could've been handled better.

On a similar note, Bojack's "other show" and "Jill Pill." Where the hell did this come from? I thought it was pretty clear that Herb discovered Bojack before anyone else. Unless this "other show" happened after Horsin' Around.

I dunno. One of the major themes of the show is that you don't always get closure. Sometimes people are removed from your life out of no where and you never see them again. Although, I was totally expecting her departure to be a sort of second chance at redemption for Bojack, sort of making things right after not standing up for Herb being fired.

No Gilberts in the UK?

Not many at all. It's an incredibly uncommon name over here for anyone under 50.

This season was very dark but still enjoyable. Hopefully the show doesn't stay as dark as it was.
They seem to be going in that direction with the last episode though.

Damn this is a really excellent show. I loved how episode 7, Hank After Dark,
plays so masterfully with the whole Cosby-like controversy, whilst exposing how fucked up it is the way we treat situations like this merely because the individual accused may be perceived as "nice." And when Bojack admits he's hurt Diane never apologized for the way she treated revealing his most tender emotional baggage, it just felt raw and real.
It was awkward for me because I was watching the episode at work with my coworker near. Him and another coworker previously talked about for a whole hour how the government framed Bill Cosby to keep black people in poverty. Their argument revolved around how Bill Cosby's comments about black people getting their act together brought fear from the government as it could incite some sort of black cultural revolution. However the government had to find a way to get the black community to turn against Bill Cosby. So they waited for years until a black comedian made a comment against Bill Cosby (he had to be black so that the black community would accept it as well as them fight against one another) and his previous rape accusation and then got the media to widely publicize it. The entire Bill Cosby drug rape thing is a government ploy to keep black America down.

I was worried that he would walk in the show and begin making comments.

Something I found somewhat obvious(end season spoilers):
About Jill Pill.

It's too much of a coincidence that she showed up after Kelsey got fired. Her reputation is ruined and she doesn't want anyone to know what she's doing so she's probably going by another name, also there's no reason Bojack wouldn't know the "other show" when it got mentioned, no matter how hard it bombed, that seemed like code to me. I think Kelsey wants to do the movie the both of them wanted to do but in theater. That scene in the oval office also had a weird ending, as if she knew she'd be gone the next day. Maybe I'm wrong but there is no doubt in my mind that the Jill Pill and Kelsey have something to do with each other.

You're reading way too much into it.

Jill is someone BoJack knew a long time ago. It's not coincidence that she starts getting mentioned after Kelsey left because after Kelsey left BoJack asked Princess Carolyn to find him work to salvage his reputation before the presumably terrible Secretariat movie came out. There's no code, and Kelsey and Jill are not linked.

regarding the season 3 hooks

I assumed Jill was Kelsey, but as far as Bojack having another show, a lot of IRL 90s superstars had awful shows that followed up their successful show. Sometimes they were spin offs, sometimes they just tried to put the actor in a new bad sitcom. I think it could work. How many of you remember The Michael Richards Show?

What did you guys think of Mr. Peanut Butter and Diane's relationship this season. It was entertaining at times, but I'm kind of 'meh'd out over it for some reason.

I thought it was an improvement over last season.

Mr. Peanutbutter himself was a much better character this time around and I could understand why someone like Diane would marry someone like him.

BoJack's other show might be an unaired pilot, maybe? That would explain why no one ever talks about it.

Also, I totally expect Charolette's daughter to make a reappearance on BoJack's doorstep. Maybe in season 4 if season 3 is going to be largely set in NYC.

Loved it, because it highlited aspects of both characters that we didn't see in season one, Mr. PB being genuinely romantic and interested in Diane's life while also keeping his dog like behavior of not wanting to be appart from her, while it highlited Dianes faults (her stubborness and egocentrism) which i feel gave worth to both characters by making them "rounded".
