Did they forget a 0 on the original DS cause wow! What a drop. Poor Xbox.

Wow at the normal DS drop. They used DSs for export before right? So they stopped that or things are getting back to 'normal'?

Damn - didn't the PSP white core pack go on sale on Apr 20?

If so - it didn't help boost sales at all compared to the average sales for the past several weeks.

Nice GBM numbers. Highest weekly sales since Christmas.

They don't really count every sale, do they? Don't they extrapolate up to get these numbers? I mean - what are they multiplying by to get 16 for the Xbox. 16?

Where's the 360 vs. Gamecube chart? It should be pretty tight for the year now.

So have they stopped making the old DS, or are people just not buying them now that DSLs are easier to get?

They've stopped shifting standard DS units to Japan. It's likely that they're almost sold out, and we'll see it floating about with GBA before M-C decides to remove it from the sales charts.

What the heck happend with the Nintendo DS?!
It was the second highest selling system last week, and now it sells less than Gameboy Micro (although it is kind of expected that Gameboy Advace SP/Micro sales would go up)?!

DSL 168,809 -So now we have confirmed the weekly shipment number
PSP 32,323 -A boost! New PSP increased sales
PS2 25,763 - Same i think.
GBM 18,390 - :O
GBASP 11,044 - :O
DS 8,051 - :O WTF did this come from? Didnt it do like 30,000 last week?
Xbox360 3,990 - Im impressed. I predicted 2,500
GC 1,106 - Poor GC. Next gen war confirmed lost.
GBA 58 - Yay GBA, last gen war confirmed won.
Xbox 16 - Record low?

Last week:

GCN total 2006: 43,648
X360 total 2006: 32,992

It'll probably be at least a month before the Xbox 360 actually takes the GameCube for this year, as the console has just had a wave of new releases and will likely slump down next week. Also, the GameCube has some interesting upcoming titles that should lift hardware sales a little.

Looks like the original DS is finally falling on the wayside. Good thing, too, it's really inferior to the Lite in almost every way.

Very, very nice GBm and GBASP sales. Proves that there's still a GBA market left in Japan that Nintendo could untap by releasing the bright lit SPs. Might be very short term, but would still be a good move.

I expect Nintendo to release FFV and FFVI GB micro systems, too.

I think the original DS was sold out. There is no other reason for such a drop.

DS LA BOMBA!:lol

Anyone know why the DS numbers fell so sharply? Out of stock?

DSL=holy crap

One thing is clear: Earthbound sure did sell some hardware; GBM and GBA numbers went up

Xbox 360 continues to slowing gain momentum. It's going to outsell the DS next week:lol

[Monorojo]Consumers are finally waking up to see all the great playing (and great selling) third party games on the PSP and are tired of Brain Training and Animal Crossing. The only reason the DSL is still selling is because it has a bright screen but the DS doesn't have any third party games and everyone will own a PSP soon enough.[/Monorojo]

Simply amazing. The original DS is already close to selling half as much as the GBA did, and I'm willing to bet the DSL will sell far more more than 7 million units in its lifetime. The DS in all will easily outsell the GBA in Japan.

Nice numbers all 'round, especially for the DSLite and GBM. And wow at the DS numbers drop.
BTW, does anybody know what the LTD for the GBM in Japan is?

According to Burnst:

GBM 18,390 - 3,676 - 495,555

SP after 8 weeks: 661K
DSL after 8 weeks: 997K
Time for SP to reach 997K: ~14 weeks

"GBA after SP" after 8 weeks: 190K
"DS after DSL" after 8 weeks: 324K
Time for "GBA after SP" to reach 324K: ~21 weeks

Lowest original model DS week yet. However, it's also the highest DS Lite week yet. So this week the DS+DSL total is only about 1300 below last week.

GCN YTD: 44,754
360 YTD: 41,279

If they can get another week or two with a spurt like this, though, it'll catch up.

Ooh, DS should pass the GBA half mark in a week or two.

Some funny things going on there there. I've got a different DS YTD than you, but my LTD total matches. Due to your YTD difference, your YTD Lead is off too. Your LTD lead is correct... for last week. The LTD difference is now 4,094,638.

Did DS sold out of the 200k shipment for April or something? And Nintendo also shipped 700k for DSL this month.

DSL is putting out some impressive numbers with no major DS titles from Nintendo for a while now. New SMB should be interesting to watch and sees its sale trend over the weeks.

Oh right I forgot to change the LTD Lead. And I did add the DS YTD wrong so this week's YTD is 1,772,370 (996,546 + 775,824).

Do you guys think the Wii will do as good as the
DS in japan or pull big numbers over there?

If Nintendo accidentally "runs out of stock" on GameCubes just before the Zelda launch.

And if they release six variations of Brain Training for it.

So did Nintendo really stop shipping DS (classic) to Japan or did DS just die all out of nothing?

Question: Will the DS top the GBA (horizontal) LTD sales by November?

They stopped shipping. There are probably still several (tens of?) thousand(s) floating around though, so I can imagine seeing them appear near the bottom of the charts for a while.

In America however, the DS and DS Lite will run side-by-side, sort of like the GBA SP/GBm. Not sure about Europe.

DS combined as stated above is still good. However, I sure didn't see that coming.

DS total: 7,419,322
GB total: 15,922,054

Can anyone track down the numbers for the GBA when it hit 7m, the time that is. Cause I think the DS hit the 7m faster than the GBA, also taking in regard that the DS isn't alone(PSP) in the market as it was for the GBA. So I'm pretty sure that it will outsell the GBA after like one year and a half or so.
