Uncharted Collection Story trailer

What's wrong with it? Is the bottom not actually representative of the game or something? If it isn't, I'd like to see a screenshot of what that scene actually looks like in game.
This supposed downgrade comparison has been debunked countless times. Both scenes are pre rendered cutscenes, so unless ND ran out of power with 8 PS3's (which were used to render the pre rendered cutscenes), it is extremely unlikely the bottom pic is a result of visual downgrades. More than likely, the bottom pic just had a different TOD that was unfinished for the final build. People who use this image as proof of ND downgrading their games should seriously be banned. By now, you'd think most people would learn, but alas, it is human nature to never learn your mistakes, it seems.

I got legit goosebumps watching that trailer. Graphics look amazing. Bluepoint have done a great job at updating U1's visuals. And photo mode? Sweet, I'm looking forward to that.

I hope they re-consider letting us be able to go straight into brutal difficulty rather than forcing a playthrough of crushing first.

Anyone know how they'll handle the MP coop in UC2?

Will it have the respawn system that the original had or will it use the ticket respawn system in 3?

I'd definitely want the former but i'd understand why they wouldn't revert back to that

Well, the final cutscene definitely looks worse, prerendered or not.

The difference is it's an artistic decision but the image is constantly used to imply a downgrade because the PS3 couldn't handle the top one.

As someone else mentioned it was rendered on a cluster so performance was not an issue

The image is useless and does nothing but derail every thread it's posted in. Thats why people hate it

Just counter it with UNCHARTED TREE

None since it does not have MP.

Are the cutscenes prerendered this time around? To me it's not a significant upgrade. Maybe because the Uncharted games already looked great. However, I like the bump in resolution and frame rate. The video was edited very well and the music was great.

The prerendered cutscenes are still prerendered. The in game ones should still be running in real time as far as I know

That has to be the most epic trailer i have ever seen, got goosebumps all over me. Best gaming series ever created.

The resolution and framerate boost is already a significant upgrade. Digital Foundry tested the demo footage and it was 99% locked 60 fps. Every other small upgrade is just gravy.

Yeah, they are kinda mean to put the difficulty behind crushing :(

Only the most dedicated fan would have to play through these games on crushing, then again on the new difficulty...who has the time? Especially since these fans likely already played the game twice through, maybe three times, for platinum/Crushing before. Don't burn us out like that.

It should be unlocked. It'd be much more interesting for the time trial mode too, if I could play on the hardest difficulty and compare my times around launch.

Uncharted 4's release, and other games, plus the MP beta will all take up people's time. Just let everyone who wants to enjoy the brutal difficulty enjoy it.

okay.
but the first pic does look better, doesn't it?

Okay... but does it matter for discussions of downgrades?

No, no it remotely doesn't. It's completely stupid and nonsensical when used for that purpose, which is what it almost always is for when posted in any Uncharted topic.

Wasn't sure about the serious tone of the trailer at first, after all I associate Uncharted more with silly adventures than serious storytelling. But I have to admit that as it went on and the music kept getting more intese I got really excited about replaying this franchise.

Wonder if it's a track from Uncharted 4 or if it's just a licensed track from Two Steps from Hell or some similar studio

everyone talks about that comparison pic like ugh not this again, but of course it gets quoted 20 times over.

It's like the Kamiya post about Inafune.
It gets posted once and then quoted 40 times by people complaining about how it adds nothing to the conversation (and it's often the only thing they write)

no MP at all? Holy shit.

I blindly assumed they would have it for 2 and 3. Shucks.

That kind of deflates my decision for a day 1 purchase.

Yeah, it sucks, but it's how it is.

It does grant you access to the U4 beta, which is the only way to get access to it.

love on your sleeve
Pretty excited to play Drake's Fortune again, it's the only one in the franchise I don't have the clearest memories of still.

How is anyone going to complete this section on the newest difficulties?

Its imposssible, IMPOSSIBLE unless they fixed the stupid enemy spawn points

Man, that took me multiple attempts on Normal. That section is the main reason I never even attempted Crushing in UC1.

They should have probably stuck with the earlier ToD/weather, from the looks of things. Not a deal breaker of course, but the top image does look a lot better.

Yep. It may be pre-rendered, but it's clearly a visual downgrade from the original scene. Doesn't bother me, though.

I'm stoked about playing U1 without screen tearing and the visuals improvements made to it.

Good trailer, but dat theme. Mhmm

Also, the trailer just reminded me how much they dropped the ball in dealing with the relationship between Sully and Drake. Especially in U3.

The trailer is great and I'm looking forward to the collection, can't wait.

But the decision to lock the difficulties is baffling. Don't they realize there are a lot of returning players who'd consider going to Crushing immediately, or maybe even Brutal? I don't see why they don't just make every difficulty available from the start.

My ideal scenario was doing a casual playthrough on normal per game, then the new über crushing. Looks like that's not going to happen.

Well, the final cutscene definitely looks worse, prerendered or not. Seems like fair game to me.

Again, the claim was made that there was a downgrade in regards to real time performance. The picture in question is from a recorded video and has no bearing on said performance.

Haha, i remember i tried this a 100 times on crushing before i finally beat it. It cant be any harder or else i have to quit my job to have time to finish it.

But seriously we have to research if the music is from Uncharted 4, Gaf detectives do your job?

Downgraded visuals generally implies that the hardware being used to play the game couldn't handle displaying it as intended. These are pre-recorded, thus the argument falls apart. Do I like the previous look? Yes, I do, but the scene was changed and we all know the game was rushed. Aesthetically, it doesn't look as good, but the downgrade talk is a bit disingenuous.

''No...''

Damn, forgot about that. Wonder how they'll tackle Drake's 'addiction' in UC4.

"You can even play all three single-player games in the collection as Doughnut Drake (or any one of over sixty-five other characters skins) if you’re so inclined. A lot of new polish, hard work, and love were put into making this the ultimate Uncharted collection."

So glad this is in all games. Hopefully the "cheats" are in there too.

Wow, great trailer.

And I really want a young Nathan Drake game.

For those of you on the fence about watching the trailer due to spoilers, don't worry. It only seems spoilery if you've already played the games.
Ya, seems like it's only spoilery if you understand the context behind the scenes. As someone who has only played Uncharted 1, I didn't get much out of it, other than "this looks awesome and I can't wait to play these games".

Spoiler culture is strange, to me.
