They already said one console. They even had a preliminary poll about which console it would be. That's at the 1 million dollar stretch goal. They won't finalize which console until after the kickstarter is over. They can still hit their main goal (we'll see about stretch goals) if they confirm multiple consoles.
I think they just simply cannot do that with an 800k kickstarter though.

If Inafune had more brains than hubris he would've cancelled this thing a good long while ago. They really need to regroup and rethink their strategy.

I dunno. It was tracking at 50k every two days. I might still make it but just barely.
I might also just be in denial since I'm so desperate for a Legends-esque title that I'll do anything for it.
They said we were getting a game for 800k. If they only do proof of concept instead of an actual game, no-one would ever fund again.I feel like the best of both worlds is this:
They barely scrape by with 800k. With this they can build a rudimentary prototype, some character models etc, for what will eventually be the Kal-kanon incident Episodes 1-3.
With this proof-of-concept, and better timing *AFTER* MN9 is released (and hopefully well received), they can relaunch a new kickstarter to expand to the previous stretch goals. Hopefully then Red Ash may have a chance at being the game Inafune is envisioning.

That's the weird part though. Backing this and getting the prologue game at a high enough tier or with their 1 day sale guarantees you the full game when it releases. Now if they can promise the full game to backers, why do they need a kickstarter.Oops, I guess I misunderstood. However, the concept is still the same: Show what you're building the full game with to re-open the kickstarter and try to achieve the stretch goals, since it seems like the biggest reasons this kickstarter shat the bed was due to poor communication/timing/handling. There's a lot of potential investment they can win back with a proper "part 2" to this kickstarter.

My bet is that they made the Kickstarer to do the following:
-Achieve greater brand awareness with this new IP
-Try to get another project (game) and animated adaptation (anime) through Kickstarter so they can use all the funds they have for the full projects for just the game
-Get another Mighty No. 9 level successful Kickstarter to get even more funding for the projects
Basically, if they can't even give us a console then this won't be successful. I honestly don't think they care if it's successful or not. If it makes a ton of money great if not it gets exposure. They have jumped the gun on this and they aren't stupid they know that so many are not happy with this but they honestly don't seem to care and it's telling in the numbers.
I'm really interested to see how this kickstarter ends.Update 10 is up... and it's pretty much nothing. No console vote winner and no gameplay prototype, just a pretty drawing. Now on the final 12 days and there is no motivation for people to pledge... this really is the "not to do" list of kickstarters.
In flames is my prediction.I'm really interested to see how this kickstarter ends.

They've said from the get-go that they won't announce the console winner until AFTER the campaign ends. What's amazing is that they're still insisting of going this route even after this KS is on its way to crashing and burning.Update 10 is up... and it's pretty much nothing. I'm with you. I'm not playing it on PC, that's for sure, so I'm not risking my pledge for a console I don't even know ill own.By NOT contributing to this Kickstarter, I can keep my money, see whether the "real game" is worth my purchase when it is finally out, and ensure I have the correct console to play the game in the first place.
If by chance the real game is any good, I can always go back and purchase the prologue.
What is the logic of this whole thing? I do not get it at all.
Inafune please.
That's a little unfair. Bloodstained amassed $5.77 million (with PayPal) to smash records without anything resembling a prototype at first. It was all promises and nice concepts. The difference is that that campaign had their shit together from the start. This one doesn't. Not to mention the incredibly bad timing.I too wish they would cancel it. I want this game, but it's not far along enough to get my money. I won't back promises, I want to back real projects that are already in motion that need help.
Come back with a prototype next time. At least color in your concept art.
I did, however, pledge $5 to get my name in the credits. Give me good reasons to up my pledge, Inafune! You're failing this.
I don't understand why they're being so stubborn about which console this would be on. Besides that, it's just plain obvious that PS4 will be the console. It has the largest install base, and it's most likely that Playstation fans have the most exposure and experience with Megaman Legends. It makes the most sense by far.
They really mustn't have thought this through; it's incredibly premature.
They want to wring some money out of WiiU and Xbone owners before announcing the poll winner. This whole tactic is shady as fuck.
They really have to get their shit together in order to salvage this. I doubt they will.
I can see that happening if they are timing the console poll announcement and gameplay prototype with the last days of the kickstarter. With only 12 days left, I doubt it. The final day might push it past their initial goal though.

Best thing for the project is to cancel and redo, but I think they'll count on it just barely squeaking by and get a publisher which was probably always the ultimate goal.If Inafune had more brains than hubris he would've cancelled this thing a good long while ago. They really need to regroup and rethink their strategy.
'I tried making a Legends spiritual sucessor but the demand just wasn't thereI'm really curious to see what Inafune says after the kickstarter ends.
I don't understand why the person actually working in this kickstarter abandoned the thread.
...because he was getting dogpiled and nothing good could have happened if he'd decided to stick around and argue?
Anyway, the less time he spends here, the more time he has to salvage this campaign... potentially, at least.
I'm really curious to see what Inafune says after the kickstarter ends.
