Now definitely confirmed to air on the first Saturday of March. As Regular Show will also have a premiere on that day, I wonder what other shows will end up on this new block?

EDIT: oh geez

Hey!
As usual, we’re back from hiatus again, only now we’re on Saturdays. This time it’s The Hall of Egress, the second episode that I conceived and wrote all on my own, more or less, after Walnuts & Rain. Initially I’d dismissed the idea for this one as irredeemably dark and unpleasant, but I kept tinkering with it til it finally worked, IMHO. Hope y'all dig it.

One week to go.

EDIT: episode synopsis and screenshot for "The Hall of Egress"!

Adventure Time, Saturday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT)… “Hall of Egress” –
Trapped and alone, Finn must unravel the riddle of the weird cave with no exit.

Original post:

Someone (you know who) ripped the first two minutes of the episode from CN's servers and released it online. Not especially spoiler-y or anything, but still... this isn't something that was released intentionally by CN.

Is there a stated purpose for scheduling this and Regular Show on Saturdays?

We talked about it briefly in the Steven Universe thread and it looks like CN are trying new things with their schedule to make room for the new shows they pick up. Why Saturdays, I do not know, but since it is airing in the afternoon rather then the dumping grounds that is Saturday mornings, I doubt it's anything to be worried about.

Are they doing this with SU as well? If so, that definitely lends the theory more credence as that would be three of their bigger shows. Still, kind of a weird move.

We don't know yet, but we now know the SU crew have been writing with 5 episode arcs in mind so it stands to reason they're anticipating having their show aired in bomb format for the foreseeable future. But CN is a fickle mistress...

Missed the east coast stream so I'll just wait for best coast to catch up w/ the rest of the country. Am I correct in assuming shit got dark? The way Tom was talking about it...

This was a nice setup for an ep but I'm not sure I'm entirely clear on how the maze works:

-walk in
-get trapped
-reach Hall of Egress room
-close eyes and stumble your way back outside past the door that no longer exists without ever opening your eyes, lest you be returned back to the Hall of Egress
-find another cursed maze with its own Hall of Egress and open your eyes, which somehow negates/improves the original curse allowing you to see your way past the first Hall when you're zapped back and escape

Anyway, apparently the next episode "Flute Spell" will be a jmoyns ep and will have Huntress Wizard in it.

Yeah, seems exactly how the maze works. I thought it was supposed to be Finn unlocking some special "mind's eye" or something. It was still an interesting episode though.

Flute Spell premieres Saturday, March 12th at 7/6c on Cartoon Network

Thought it was some kind of tiny Finn/dog chimera, turns out it's just regular Finn wading in some deep water.

I'm glad they're finally doing something with that flute he's had since forever.

That was a really nice weird episode. Love episodes like this and also quite the pretty episode too. Lots of lovely shots.

I kept thinking that if Finn had simply stacked the snowman pieces in the correct order, the door would have opened. I think he just found a really roundabout solution :)

Nah, this was a good episode. It had tones of fauxlosophy, yeah, but mostly it was just about a weird door in a cave and Finn's solution to it.

Toonzone.net released an episode description for next Saturday's Adventure Time:

EDIT: seems KC Green will guest board an episode of AT alongside Emily Partridge:

Apparently the episode in question is "The Thin Yellow Line" which will air in two Saturdays.

Also, according to this Adventure Time will continue to air into April with "Don't Look" on the 2nd. And yup, still on Saturdays.

Also, and this shouldn't come as a surprise, but the first two minutes of the episode has been leaked online. It's a little spoilery but nothing too major, however along with that various screenshots from later in the episode were also nabbed from CN servers so there's random spoilers out there, fyi. Something to keep in mind if you want to go in blind this Saturday.

EDIT: A synopsis appears! Command?

The Thin Yellow Line
Finn and Jake discover a conspiracy after infiltrating the Banana Guard ranks.

Cute episode. I guess they're going to hold off on giving Finn a long healthy
relationship
until the end of the series, around the time Simon eventually reunites with Betty.

The Thin Yellow Line was delightfully cartoony. The resolution was almost cloying, in a way that the show hasn't been for a while, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Flute Spell from last week was a really good one, as well.

Really great last two episodes. The Thin Yellow Line especially felt like an episode from the first couple of seasons from the show. Loved all of the facial animations throughout it from Finn and Jake and Finn's face as he realized who Banana guard 16 might be was hilarious.

^Agreed lol

The banana guard is consistently hilarious.

Loved seeing Jake go nuts trying to figure out what was making the horse sound.

The shading bit was amazing, lol

I gotta say one of the things I love about this show is that (for the most part) they don't give into fan fictiony ideas, such as making some plot about PB being a villain or something. AT is best when it's silly, with only a spot of darkness.

Any word on the season 6 blu-ray collection? judging on the gaps between previous seasons (8-9 months typically), I was expecting it in April, but still nothing :/

I don't stream this show or anything, and only watch via BD, so hopefully it's not too much longer :/

In case anyone was wondering who Mandy Long was: link

EDIT: speculation that "Frog Seasons" was a collection of shorts seems to be accurate

I don't know how I feel about the Ice King now. I used to really like him, he was my favorite character, but I feel all his character development over the last few seasons have undermined what I liked. I liked that the Ice King was crazy, a lot about what he deals with really spoke to me. But all this focus on 'Simon' the person he was before his mental illness and getting back that person kind of bothers me. You don't get better from mental illness, not really. Ice King> Simon because we rarely see Simon in that decline, he's either better or not.

Adventure Time continues to air through April 9th with Beyond the Grotto (formerly known as Beyond the Grotto of the Water Nymphs). Also the next Frog Season short will air after the reruns.

EDIT: Don't Look title card

Subtle.

In other news, King of Ooo confirms the short Frog Seasons: Spring will air at the tail end of the Adventure Time block this Saturday. Also it's been confirmed via recently released CN scheduling that AT will continue to air throughout April.

"Teen Boy Heartthrob it is..."

Hmm... I guess it's true Finn still idolizes her. But his idolization seems to have shifted in a different direction?

So, how has the season been so far? What's the ratio of filler to important episodes?

Thread seems pretty dead right now. The show lost a lot of Steam here.

Saturday seems like kind of a weird time for new episodes, I guess, but these last few have all been pretty good. Nothing too important, other than last week's Broke His Crown.
