Here are some of my favorite pickups from January 2017! In February I'll be traveling all over the word. Back to my beloved Tokyo and then to new adventures in Peru and the Philippines! Can't wait to see what I find on my adventures!

15876902_406796829658712_5138708437273673728_n.jpg

Excited to play this with friends!

15624828_1707669212877302_5975481891757752320_n.jpg

Got an early sample pair of these Air Jordan 1 OGs. The detail is insane!

32265019192_906a00225f_b.jpg

January had TOO many awesome games. I still need to play through Yakuza 0!

16123251_850986708337742_3765261604925472768_n.jpg

This is pretty cool piece of gaming history. Especially the story behind the game/development. You might remember it being featured in this recent Polygon article.

14582462_1211856508896395_1928420103787905024_n.jpg

Super stoked about these Resident Evil POPs! Hoping to see another wave in the future with Claire, Chris & more...

14714579_197194964083197_3152284207447801856_n.jpg

Had to get Tyrant too (exclusive to Hot Topic and Target -- glow in the dark version).

15877279_946145735521342_227177768226390016_n.jpg

Got a KILLER deal on this limited edition Macross figure. :O

15877358_1155126807936171_6165876387535126528_n.jpg

While I was in Vegas earlier this month I picked up a pair of these Air Jordan 13s commemorating 'Single's Day' in China.

15802597_363535750673509_6211319220290977792_n.jpg

My friend from the UK was able to score me a pair of the Air Max 95 DW Rabbit signed by Dave White himself!

15802618_229151937554699_1816004140883509248_n.jpg

Picked up a fresh new pair of the Adidas EQT. This is by far the hottest colorway in the pack. The 3M pink and milky white heel design got me good.

16110674_1684883975137413_880768604088303616_n.jpg

Got a new Evo Transporter bag from SplitFrame!

OG NMDs and OG Royal Foamposite Ones!

16123712_379644735728253_3386559872987299840_n.jpg

Can't believe it's been about 12 years already? Stoked to play through this again.

That's all I got for January 2017! Hope you had a great first month and Happy Lunar New Year!

Have a good one, GAF! If you'd like to follow my adventures, please follow me on twitter or instagram.

January pick ups!

Mostly picked up Vita games in various clearance sales last month. Past the 200-physical-Vita-games marker now. Hoping to complete the collection, or at least get close to completing it, somewhere in 2017, so that I can focus on other (retro) platforms again. Got a Japanese SEGA Saturn now, and seeing other people posting pics of their Saturn games is already making me jelly, lol.

Vita games: MeiQ - Labyrinth of Death, Farming Simulator 16, LEGO Ninjago - Shadow of Ronin, LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, LEGO Ninjago Nindroids, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Universe in Peril, Dead or Alive 5+, Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition, God Eater 2 Rage Burst, Rugby 15, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath HD, and Lone Survivor - The Director's Cut

PS3 game: Burnout Paradise - The Ultimate Box

Been a while since I posted one of these, first I need to play catch up. Here are some highlights over the last few months!

BC4487AF-2238-4024-804F-CECD1993BE60_zpsftschnvq.jpg

Picked up the new 15" MBP with Touch Bar

AE15CD80-21BC-4A74-8F9B-AF7EB3EF17D1_zpsyshs9kml.jpg

Upgraded to the Hermes Series 2 Apple Watch when it released

3502AAF5-01D9-4E3B-8AA5-11D398BBFF08_zpsfki7qknw.jpg

I picked this up at launch and still haven't had the chance to get into it yet thanks to massive reshuffling of rooms and where this will be set up

6507793F-1DFA-4D23-A335-A03B943E2C92_zps0esdognh.jpg

My first pair of 11's! And how appropriate that they are Space Jams on the 20th anniversary of the flick!

35D30B68-5EDF-4A42-87BC-DE1FFA9D45D9_zpseeerxzi8.jpg

And of course I had to pick up the 20th Anniversary Steelbook!!

D09CDFA0-10DF-4A03-AD7D-B56972102B96_zpspk92yx9o.jpg

And some preorders from Mondo finally arrived!

Good day for me with the Big G...

My SEGA Premium Shin Gojira arrived from Japan! I purchased it Saturday!
jxp0hMm.jpg

Love the detail in the sculpt, and the paint is very good... the tail is magnificent!! It's a tiny bit smaller than the Bandai and SH figures that make up the majority of my collection but it looks so much nicer than anything else released in my price range so far!

And then I wander into HMV and find these for $10 each:
KAjodbE.jpg

I got some n64 ans saturn games throughout last month. And I picked up a pair of shoes I ordered yesterday from the the stoee as well as a diff pair of shoes from the mail office. I'm liking both for different reasons. I'm not much of a shoe fiend and generally only buy something if I feel it suits me and my character. I'll post when I get home

This figure from the halo loot crate that I received last month

All the games I bought (Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 0, and RE7) were digital.

But I did pick up this Porsche Panamera Turbo 2016 (4.8L V8 540HP 0 to 60 mph at 3.7 seconds) to complete my German armada. (I also have a Mercedes CLS 550 and a BMW M6 -competition package @ 600hp) Unfortunately the Merc will likely get sold so it no longer serves a purpose. Really great car.

I was wondering: how much enjoyment can one get out of a 540HP (or 600 even) car in the States with those speed limits? Or are there Germany-like "Autobahnen" too in less populated areas where you can put all the HP to use?

Or do you take your cars to a race track once in a while?

Coming from Germany and been living in the States for a couple years now I can tell you that it takes a lot of self-control. I started out with a 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0 and within the first couple weeks I had a $400 ticket (CA) and had to attend driving school. You can still have lots of fun with those cars in the US though, especially if you have a manual or one with manual override e.g. Tiptronic. It's also about the sound, the zippyness/feel/responsiveness of the car and also, even though a lot don't admit it, status and bragging right.

I totally get the deal with the sound and stuff.

But if you're already crossing the speed limit after 3.7 seconds and before you even shifted to 2nd gear, that just sounds super frustrating, lol.

Oh snaps; didn't realize ABZU got a physical release. Guess I'll take a trip to GameStop tomorrow since they seem to be the only B&M retailer in my area that sells it.

I made a stop at one of the 99 Cent Stores and saw they had LEGO Dimensions packs! $1 each! The store clerk even made a comment that I should get more. I passed on it at the time but I now realize I do want more and wouldn't mind having doubles. So I'm going back tomorrow.

I'd like to be able to add a localized 3DS DQ XI to this, but we'll see.

I have a radar detector which helps. Its easy to accidentally hit 100 mph before you know it with these cars on an empty freeway with a 75mph limut. Cops love to get you at those hotspots. But its more the acceleration and the G forces as oppossed to raw top speed.. I also take my cars out to a race track a few times a year.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

It's not really about hitting top speed. I mean, yeah, you can be well over the speed limit in under 4 seconds, but it's more about the feel of the car. If you want to whip through a turn, you can, and it's fun as hell. If you're trying to get around some bozo who's going the speed limit, you can make him look like a fool. You know. The little things.

holy shit man, if you don't mind me asking, what you do for living ? nice cars

-Adidas EQT Turbo Red: Similar to Markman I'm a sucker for the highlighter pink as well
-Kozoko Lows: It was a bit of an adventure as I was trying a lot of different shoes last month and kept eyeing the Kozoko Low's online. I decided to pull the trigger on a local store and as soon as they got their shipment I picked it up. The shoes feel wonderful.
-Master Revolving Glass Case: I bought it from Sideshow but regret it a bit because the glass was cracked already when I opened the package. I'm trying to see if Sideshow can just exchange the whole thing for a new one because they don't have spare parts.
-X-23 Kotobukiya SDCC Exclusive: I had the original years ago but sold it once I found this existed as I liked the angry expression more. Managed to get a good price on this and finally returned her to my collection
-Vitaly Jewellery: I've only owned one piece of jewellery in my entire life and lost it as a child. Felt like it was time to step up my accessory attire a bit.

-Some Saturn pickups off ebay that came in
-Japanese N64 games(note that Pokemon Stadium 2 in Japan is actually the NA Pokemon Stadium 1) I spent a total of about 110 bucks(canadian) for everything in this photo through Ebay
-Aded 6 saturn controllers to my collection to bring it up to 8, plus I bought a brand new multi-tap so I can run some 7 player bomberman
I need 2 more controllers and another multitap to be able to play with 10 people
-My final pick up is Smash Bros for N64 and Saturn Bomberman which I've been waiting ages to arrive as my old copy is scratched to hell from being a random loose disc.

Still waiting on a lot of stuff, I'll wait until most of them come in before I post again so I don't spam the thread.

This was supposed to arrive along with 23-26, completing the set, but 23 onwards had some weird shipping hangup (thanks again, USPS) so they won't get here until tomorrow. I'll just edit them into this post, along with a picture of the whole set.(edit: Ugh, apparently the shipping company "misplaced" it, so they asked me if I wanted a "replacement order with the fastest shipping" or a refund. My replacement copies are due on Monday)

This came today. I have 9 more on the way (ordered 1-7, 10, 18) that should be here hopefully later this month. These things are pretty expensive as a lot of them came out to be like 30 dollars after shipping. (got lucky with the ones still being sold by Amazon Japan, getting those more quickly at half-ish the price).

I can't read Japanese, nor do I aspire to learn how to, but the idea of collecting these is really attractive to me as they are mostly just like they were printed in their weekly magazine back when, and it kinda reminds me of the time or two when I looked at them when I was a kid living in Okinawa, Japan in the early 90s.
Had T-mobile send this thing out because I get terrible reception in my apartment unless I'm right next to my living room window, which is really annoying when I need texts for 2FA from my bank or from USAA when I need to login to pay my bill. Just set it up today, and I'm really happy that I can finally use my phone outside of the sliver of room near the window on my couch.

Had to get a damn Y-cable so I can use an external hard drive on my Wii U. Needed to free up space for Zelda U's apparent requirement for 3 free gigs on Wii U. My 1TB drive seems like a waste for my Wii U, because I rarely, rarely get a digital game on a Nintendo console save for some VC stuff (that's an age past, too). The things taking up the most space were Tropical Freeze and Game and Wario. I didn't even buy those games, they were ClubNintendo thingies.

Impulse buy after watching Giant Bomb's last video. It was the first time I saw them play this game (or anyone play the game) without farting around like in the Hitsmas video (which was great!). I kinda held off on the game since I haven't liked my time with a Hitman game since Hitman 2, but I think I'm ready to put the time in to learn the levels.

Kinda hope now that the older games get added to the backwards compatibility library soon, lol.

Preordered this bad boy today, I can't wait!

i-h2xtqTm-L.jpg
Beautiful pickup! I want to get him as well but he's so pricey and I only have space on my shelves for one more possible one more 1/4 scale piece and I'm feeling like I should go for something that matches the theme of my current shelves instead

I need to start posting my stuff, but I just want to say thanks MarkMan for putting this thread together every month. It's like a Gaffers loot chest, always look forward to see the random things people get.

Another month of lots numerous pick ups!

Trying to grab a few PS4 titles whilst their prices pretty much bottom out:

Apparently GRR is out of print, and days after the thread about the US market, copies seem to be going for decent money online here too. So I grabbed this for £12!

Elsewhere I thought why not start just buying a few physical Vita games (shock horror!) since my 64GB card is full and some are getting pricey!

Finally, some Nintendo purchases:
I said to myself I'd never get into these damn things. Ever. And now I'm here:
Stupid pink bowling ball.

Can't wait to play this ASAP, the animations are cute af:

Have you ever posted your setup? I like your shelves :)

Nah, my game room needs some more work first. It's not messy or anything, all the games are put on the shelves nicely and tidily, and of course alphabetically. ;-) But I need to do some redecorating in the room itself. The shelves are the most basic plain white Ikea Billy shelves, btw. ;-)

Ok, fair enough. :)

Can I ask why are some of your games have a black side and most have white?

Man, I've wanted to replace my Kindle for a while now. I still have a 2nd generation one with a keyboard. I liked the keyboard for taking notes (I like taking notes when reading books), but I think I want one of the smaller ones for whenever I want to just read the paper or something lighter, you know?

I'd want one without special offers though, and it'd have to have the free 3G and not just Wifi so I could buy a newspaper just anywhere if I wanted. I love that about my old Kindle.

Been a good minute since I posted.

First off, got in on the great Official GAF jacket, this is a pic of the liner. I also got two of the parkas (brown, black - pictured) and that super awesome subzero jacket with the fur cuff.

Cheap boots for the ice storm that rolled through a month ago.

Couple pickups on sale.

Back in an iPhone after 42 months on Android.

Ordered one of my daughters a Design Lab controller. Military Green w/ Midnight Blue sticks and rear, grey Start/Select.

Switched from Comcast 75 down with free local to AT&T Gigapower, so I picked up an antenna to supplement. Everything but NBC.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Mostly Revenge of the Fallen Transformers, some Animated, and some random stuff.
*Revenge of the Fallen: Jetfire, The Fallen, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ravage, Ironhide, Ratchet, Icecream Truck Mudflaps/Skids, Skids, Mudflap, Thrust, Dirge, Starscream, Arcee, Soundwave, Armorhide, Sideways
*Dark of the Moon Megatron
*Animated Starscream, Megatron, Soundwave
*Megatron Armada (Re Deco)
*Universe Hardhead
And two others I can't tell

It happened randomly. I was helping out a customer and they noticed there was some Transformers on the shelves. They asked if anyone collected Transformers, cuz he had a tub of them at his house. I said I did and he asked if I wanted it. For Free. Said it was taking up space and he didn't want it anymore.

He left and came back to drop it off. He hooked it up.

I must've done some good customer service. lol

I liked these the most.
