Graces was the absolute low point for me. I only liked maybe 3 songs. Fodra battle theme, Mad Dance, and that one snowy port (I can't remember the name of this song, but I liked it for some reason). The rest I can't remember or don't care for... Especially that one cave...

I thought the Vesperia soundtrack was pretty pleasant, a couple of standouts but not much that really grabs me beside the Zagi battle theme "Distorted Sword Light" and Fury Sparks (which I'm kinda tired of by now, actually.) I hate the first battle theme, Furnace of War though.

Graces soundtrack is pretty weak. A couple of nice tracks like the Strahta battle theme and the Fendel battle theme but besides that...whatever.

Abyss I don't care much about either. I do like Awkward Justice though.

I have listened to a lot of music from past Tales games though I haven't played them. I know I missed out. Destiny, Phantasia, and Symphonia have nice music. I do like a couple tracks from Rebirth (Final Episode, Scutum - Decisive, Battle Organization), Eternia (the Inferia battle theme) and Legendia (the English OP and the Title theme are AMAZING.)

For Graces, I only liked a few of the battle themes in the main story, but I actually liked all of the tracks that were added for Lineage and Legacies (about 10 tracks I think).

No way it's JP audio only and I doubt they'll redub it. It's just a simple HD remaster, there's no reason not to keep the old VA, which is fine anyway.

I was under the impression Nintendo paid for the english dub which is why the PS2 version was Japan only

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen anyone back this up with any actual proof. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just something people made up as an excuse for the PS2 version never being released in English.

If they don't, I hope at the very least they add in manual text advancing for skits, those were awful to have to wait through when there were no voices.

Yeah, this was the worst in Abyss especially. Sitting through 5 minute skits with no audio and being unable to advance was annoying.

My theory is that this upcoming Symphonia game or the next mothership title will most likely have dual audio.

If we're following what they told us so far yes, this is what is most likely to happen.

Regarding Tales soundtracks, I remember reading a few months ago an interview of Sakuraba who said that when composing for a Tales of he had to restrain himself because he was asked to by Bamco.
However I wouldn't be able to find the source.

I'm still waiting for the come back of Shiina or a new collab for an episode just like they did for Abyss with Karma

They won't. There hasn't been a $60 HD set yet, from anyone. Unless I'm missing something? I wonder how you get that Guy costume.

There is none. Not even proof that Nintendo did anything but help advertise.

They're going to have to redub the original Symphonia most likely.

Why? Nothing stopped them from reusing Abyss's localization.

They were mentioning that some people were under the assumption that Nintendo had a hand in paying for the english dub (but who knows).

Also, 3DS Abyss had everything the US version already had, while in this case, the PS2 version has some added stuff that hasn't been voiced. There are some more Unison Attacks, Mystic Artes, and techs. So they're going to have to either get the original VA back, replace the VA, or just insert some generic line that the VA did in its place.

I don't think there were any brand new voiced scenes though.

Quite frankly I thought Abyss had a pretty solid OST, if not one of Sakuraba's better Tales works -- also considering Fujiwara's tracks as well (Meaning of Birth, final boss battle themes, etc.) and I can't see how the soundtrack is even half as bad. Screw the haters.

I don't even remember much of Vesperia outside of maybe like two tracks. Graces was also pretty forgettable.

Guys, if they were going to have to redub Tales of Symphonia, they wouldn't localize this collection. Think about it for a minute. This is Tales, and you know how much effort Namco puts into Tales outside of Japan.

I cannot confirm this myself, but I have been told that supposedly GameStop US is taking pre-orders in-store, $40 with placeholder April 1.

It was pretty good. I liked it.

Thanks.

A lot of recycled tracks dor towns and such. Battle tracks are a bit more guitar heavy

Like this remix of Full Force

or this new regular battle music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_S4lDpqIzQ

World Map theme is neat : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtbkadOBUeg

Nice cool tracks, hmm, the extra guitar gives it a bit more of a Star Ocean feel.

I'm imaging going out to a world map to that. :)

off topic: just remembered something... everyone here knows that, since end of last year, viewlagoon finally made the video "Genis Solo No Damage against Abyssion", right? (i said "finally" because, obviously, he already did that with the others a while ago) I dont know why, it just came to my head and i thought "its old but... i have to make sure that everyone has already seen it"

whatever, heres the video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6FF6sEnFuOw

Of course, he has the videos with the others on his channel but you should have already seen them years ago... I hope you like the video too, PRISM.

Hmmm who shall I use as my main party? I've used everyone across my 3 play throughs before. Last time I used Lloyd (I always main him, generally always use MCs in Tales), Raine, Regal, and Presea. Maybe I'll go Lloyd, Raine, Sheena, Zelos or Collete this time.

:D

Just a hunch.

Just out of curiousity, are you thinking a re-dub will be necessary because of new voiced content and complications of getting the old cast back, or do you think there is a rights issue with re-using the original recordings?

It's not due to that stupid idea of Nintendo owning the localization or whatever crap people keep saying. I don't even know why people keep saying that. I think they'll redub for continuity sake, new content, and possibly being unable to reuse their original dub recordings.

If there are new scenes, then they will have to dub them. And it will sound weird to have some scenes with the old cast and some with a new cast. They'll probably redo the dub, or at least I hope. I want consistency dammit.

My only Tales game was Vesperia. I am getting my new PS3 next week. Will I enjoy these? I'm pretty sure I am going to pick up Xillia as well.

I think Symphonia is pretty dated. I think you'll have a hard time easing into it. Still.... you never know. I think you'll like Xillia if you liked Vesperia. Graces is pretty good too due to it's combat-centric style of gameplay.

Probably. I'll be a bit disappointed since I'm used to the original english cast. I'll be surprised (and happy) if they try to get as much of the old cast back and voice the skits, but I'm not expecting that.

Yeah. Lots of people who liked Symphonia enjoyed Vesperia quite a bit. The styles are similar in terms of battle, just a bit simpler.
