The fetishism for things being "realistic" is getting tiring."They need to hire a new artist, they forgot to make it look realistic."
A comment I've actually seen
What's badass about it?

Starter forms (9 total/6 seen)
Regional bird (Fletchling & Talonflame)
Pika-clone (Dedenne)

This is one of the first new reveals I haven't loved. Don't like this one at all :/
What are other gimmick Pokemon from other gens?Rattata-clone: Bunnelby
Caterpie/Weedle clone: Spewpa
Gimmick Pokemon using the system's features: Malimar
Eevolution (qq moSylveon)
I don't know whether these would be tropes. Version exclusives I think aren't tropes. They could make anything version exclusive, so yea.Do version exclusives count? Skrelp and Spritzee from Y / Clauncher and Swlirx from X.
The cat Pokemon always has an evo, so this seems likely.I don't know if Bunnelby is meant to be the Ratata clone, I think we still have that coming...it's more like, uh, this Gen's Buneary.
And the two new cat Pokemon seem to be the new cat Pokemon, like Meowth, Skitty, Glameow, and Purloinn, except mixing things up with two of them.
The eevolution is totally a trope. Every generation has at least one, no?What are other gimmick Pokemon from other gens?

Whoops, I only just quoted you, forgot to reply to you. It could be a trope. Gen 3 & 5 didn't have an eeveelutiion. The eevolution is totally a trope. Every generation has at least one, no?

OK, thanks. Gimmick Pokémon seem to be a thing, but with a loose definition.Chatot in Gen 4 used the DS's mic feature in its special attack.
Gen 3 had many Pokemon that existed solely to be used in double battles, which were first brought in that gen. Plusle/Minun, Volbeat/Illumuse, Latios/Latias.
Gen 5 had Deerling and Sawsbuck that change with the seasons.

I wonder what would Chigorasu and Amasu's English names be.

Oh I seeMore of the Shellos
What made people think it would become a Manticore anyway?
Obviously it was meant to be a lion.
We need some sort of image with this Pokemon and Luxray re-enacting the Mufasa's Death scene from The Lion King. "Long Live The King" indeed.
Haha, just great.Delivered.
