Hope they keep Starry Heavens in the US and EU version this time around. The song they had in the US & EU version is terrible. Well compared to Starry Heavens at least.

You don't need to get a band back together to make a new remix of an old song. The vocals are probably not going to change.

Yeah I was just thinking that. It sounds like the same vocals, so they probably just remixed it with misono herself helping.

For those of you who want to look for the trailer it's on my highlights section on my twitch profile. Actually the entire livestream is there. lol.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Did Symphonia PS2 have additional voiced stuff and skits?

Oh shit. I totally forgot about this. I thought I didn't make a formal bet. I told kewl that it was off because I didn't remember making a formal post though. I will let him decide since I forgot and mistakened it.

I'll man up to it. Do your worst.

I'm kinda excited about the release though. Hopefully they redub the game so we can get skits for Symphonia and so that both games have the same VAs. What did the PS2 version of ToS add compared to the GC version?

Best case scenario if they are lazy and use the audio from the original US/Eu released would be that they include JP audio for the people that want consistency for both games. That way I could hear my Kugimiya.

Yeah right. I probably still wouldn't touch that game.

Yes, there were new animation scenes, as well as new events. Every character was given a Mystic Arte. There were a number of minor changes too, most of them gameplay related like fixing bugs.

Every characters got a new costume and related side quest too, but you could only do one per playthrough I think, which is really lame.

I hope they alter some of that kind of stuff. I hated the slowly doling out costumes of the first game.

Ah, true. The arrangement is all that changed, but I wonder specifically what changed.

I'm curious how Starry Heavens/Soshite Boku ni Dekiru Koto will be utilized. Will it just play either one when you watch the opening?

Trailer's gone now so I can't check but there were special unison attacks in the original for several party member pairings.

The Regal and Lloyd one (Ryuuko Metsugajin) is new to people who only played the GC version. It's a new Unison Attack for the PS2 version.

Notable changes for the PS2 version:
- Crappy framerate (60->30FPS), textures, and load times compared to GC ver. Hopefully all fixed in HD port.
- Camera doesn't suck as bad with multiplayer
- Unison Bar flashes brighter than the GC version when filled, and fills much faster.
- Sheena gets cut-ins for her summons
- New anime movies/a few new cutscenes and small side events
- New costumes for the cast
- New Unison Attacks, artes (for both party and bosses), mystic artes
- Fixed bugs like the T/S bug (the one that allowed you to learn both variations at the same time), infinite combo with spell cast->spell cancel has been removed, Eternal Sword glitch, etc.
- An extra boss battle added to the original EX dungeon and 5 more floors added
- Casino actually works in Altamira now and there's Blackjack and Slots
- Dragon from Earth Temple gives a lot less money

So Tales experts, as a huge fan after Grace F, where is ToS?

Worse, but mostly due to age. Which is why I was hoping for a remake. Pacing wise it's still a very solid game, battle system is fast (but still less flexible as the newer entries), and the soundtrack is one of the better ones in the series.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
I really wish they did more of a remake for the first game. Not sure if an HD remaster will be better than playing it in an emulator and the graphics are hard to look at on my GCN.

The one where you repeatedly cancel melee attacks into Angel Feathers? I think that was removed.

I guess it was that, I don't remember the details, but you could keep up your melee combo by just canceling it after a pair of hits and it was really easy to pull it off.

Tales of Graces excelled in the battle system, which to me is better than the previous titles in that field. However, the music ,characters and plot are not well developed in Garces, especially compared to Symphonia and Vesperia

Fixed.

I wanna punt that kid in the head.

I don't remember hating him much, but then again I haven't replayed the game since I was a kid. Maybe I will hate him too when I play it again.

I don't remember being particularly put off by Colette.

Characters that constantly trip for no reason at all usually piss me off. Also, the damn game and anime hella tries to pair her up with Lloyd. Sheena is way superior!!!!!!

Yeah it's removed. Same with the trick with Colette where you can use Holy Song -> spell cancel -> Holy Song and watch for the "1P Target" icon to disappear. If it disappeared you'd always get her Mystic Arte "Holy Judgement". That was fixed in the PS2 version as well.

noooooooo

10000 Gald -> 1000 Gald to be exact. It sucks.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if this comes with dual audio. lol.

Yeah, and there wouldn't be as much issue with disk space too compared to their newer entries. It's a long shot but they've been making steps to do more fan-friendly things lately.
Plus Kamina-Lloyd and Gendou-Kratos are fun even if I do prefer the English cast.

He has a name; a godly name.

Lloyd's original VA was Robin from Teen Titans. :p (With Presea sharing hers with Raven from Teen Titans).
Paging Aeana.

I also tend to avoid names for the same reason... If I read about it after the game I'm happy but during the game it just distracts me. Same thing with anime seiyuu.

Didn't know about the Presea/Raven connection, but did know of Lloyd's VA. He also did Inuyasha, if I remember right.
Already gone.

Well, nobody is Symphonia is as bad as Asbel.

Quoted for the truth. God, I can't stand Asbel. Even Zelos is better than Asbel.

I'll never understand the hate for the characters in Graces. Now some of the characters in Abyss...

At least the story made up for it. Plus the Abyss crew were never really friends to begin with, they felt like coworkers being forced to save the world. So the cast being dicks to each other felt justified (except for Anise). Graces has the whole group being all "FRIENDSHIP IS FOREVER" which got annoying after a while. Especially since they almost got the world destroyed and several people killed because they would never finish Richard off due to "friendship".

I like Colette. :\

Actually, I don't think I hate any character in the original Tales of Symphonia, which is kinda surprising.

This is how I feel too. There are big duds in each cast, but I dislike the Abyss duds much more.

Malik, Sophie & Pascal are more than enough to make up for the damp dishcloth known as Asbel.
