Uncharted Collection Story trailer

There's no error, it's how the lighting works. If you watch the cutscene the sun is heavily approaching dusk intensifying the bloom from the west. Maybe the would have better textures to reflect from the lighting but the original E1 made it look like it was in the morning/midday. A better example would be Journey:

Journey-sunset.jpg

Notice the silhouette has the colors muted against the intensifying light. That is what we're observing here.

I know, but... the problem is that the way it's portrayed in Journey has the player's view against the light, hence why we only see silhouettes, mostly, and less details (regarding the texture work). Although in the UC3 bus scene, the light in the final version seems to be going for a late-afternoon setting (maybe not as close as the dusk setting you were hinting at), in which the sun is at the right side of the bus compared to the E3 trailer's version of the lighting (then left).

The way the bloom was used in the final version doesn't fit at all with the more "natural" lighting ND was trying to aim for and it also doesn't work with how it is used on Chloe's face, which also seems to hinder Chloe's shaders for some reason (most likely the same shaders used in the E3 trailer), hence why the lighting in the E3 trailer works better only for the time setting (late morning between 9h30~11h am). You can observed in the picture below how I was seeing the possible changes to the lighting if they were to rework that scene...

God those trophies better stack. Now that Brutal mode is locked behind crushing mode, looks like Ill have to start on crushing mode for my 1st playthrough on PS4 (Already platinumed all 3 on PS3). Shame, wanted an easy going ride to enjoy the changes before going Brutal Mode.

UC3 is the best in the series IMO.
if Uc3 had a bossfight perhaps I would agree with you, but Uc2 is the true milestone of the franchise. It's basically what turned Uncharted into Sony's Halo.

Collection should be fun to play, doesn't look insanely better graphically though.
indeed. I feel like tlour had an even greater graphical leap. maybe coz ND did that themselves?

I hope they haven't fixed the wall clipping glitches for speed runs

That music was so good. Anybody know where it is from?

Also wondering this. Keep refreshing the thread waiting for someone to say the track name.

I wonder if the music is from Henry Jackman's (yes, Greg Edmonson did not return) score from Uncharted 4.

But seriously we have to research if the music is from Uncharted 4, Gaf detectives do your job?

Wonder if it's a track from Uncharted 4 or if it's just a licensed track from Two Steps from Hell or some similar studio

Now the big question is, is that music from Uncharted 4? It does feel like a Henry Jackman style!

That music ... I bet it's from Uncharted: A Thief's End!

But what about the fucking music too, lol.
That really set the mood, great trailer!.
It doesn't sound familiar. I wonder if it's a new added Score.
If it came from any of the other Uncharteds, it's probably on Uncharted 3.
Love it. I needz it

What's the music in the trailer? Is it licensed or is it from Uncharted 4 maybe? It was beautiful.

I would like to know as well. It kinda sounded like a track from Inception but I'm pretty sure it's not.

I see, I'm not the only one who wants to know about the music :D

UC2 will almost surely be based on the latest patch/build for single player, which means airwalking wouldn't be a thing (speedruns of UC2 are on the unpatched version of single player). So, UC2 will definitely not be the same -- it'd be equal to playing on patched on PS3.

UC1 and UC3 on the other hand... there's some hope they might be left alone. IIRC, they didn't patch UC3 single player as much as they did UC2 single player. And UC1 was basically left alone patch-wise.

My main problem with UC3 was at launch. The aiming system was messed up. GAF and Naughty Dog go together and fixed it.

Yeah, this was definitely the main (and really only) thing I didn't like about UC3. Played through the whole game though at launch without the patch, and still liked it, but once that patch came out and it played like UC2, it was sooooo much better.

It's kind of hard for me to get excited for this collection. The only game I want is Uncharted 2. I have no desire to ever play UC1 and UC3 again.

Man Im not going to be able to afford this unfortunately. I just really want the MP Beta as a huge fan

I hope I can find out. Presumably ill have to buy it off GAF BST thread

I wonder what the going rate will be.

Ill jump in eventually just for UC1. Never got to play it and BP has done a convincing job.

I wonder if sony can sell each remaster separately on psn

Such a fantastic trailer. I love all of the Uncharted games, from Drake's Fortune to Golden Abyss.

I'm torn between Uncharted 2 & 3 as my favorites in the series, because I personally think UC2 =UC3. And UC3 has the plane and cruise ship sections, which are probably two of my favorite sections in the entire series.

You get it. Running and gunning, clumbing, jumping, rolling around. That's where the fun is and why Uncharted is one of the most fun third person shooters around.

Glad to see that ascpect expanded upon with 4.

Yep. I feel like people try to hate on Uncharted's gameplay because you can't hate on how good it looks or the story or set pieces. So if you have an agenda you can throw out some vague gameplay complaints. I love these games.

Yes (based on the trailer). Without real-time cut scenes, all three games wouldn't fit on the disc.
I'd be very surprised if that's the case. Especially since they didn't do that for God of War or Last of Us. But you're also right that 60fps cutscenes of 3 games would be too much for one disc.

Heh. Just looks like an engine or model quirk that carried over.

It's comparable to a frame in a cartoon where a character's limb is slightly skinnier or the like, which is to say that you won't see the deformation in motion because it's only for a frame or two (however long the animation is lol).

Uh, guys? Is Nathan Drake a Mutant? Look at his hand! That, or something is broken...

Trailer looked cool though. Can't wait to play UC1 without the screen tearing.

wait, you telling me wrists don't bend like that? Fuck I should see a doctor

The best argument against those people is that those games had one of the most popular MP on PS3, UC3 was getting ~80k players online for a very long time, only CoD had a consistently higher MP population (& maybe GTAV, but I didn't check the population for that game).

The MP relies on gameplay & gameplay only, a game with mediocre gameplay won't have any active MP.

Someone asked on Twitter. Turns out, it's from one of those licensed music libraries. I do find it weird, for a series that has such great adventure music, they instead used generic trailer music (as cool as it sounded).

That's pretty crazy, yeah. At least it was good generic music.

Ah, good to know. Can I find this music somewhere?

Probably, but it might be for productions only. From what I understand, music libraries can be very expensive up front, but royalty free after you buy a library. I know Giant Bomb spent money on a library (hence their generic pre-stream music). Unless someone was able to capture the song and post it on YouTube, you might have trouble finding it. Another option is Sony could have gone to trailer music makers, such as Two Steps From Hell, which sell their albums sometimes on iTunes and other services. However, not knowing the name of the track makes things difficult. In the tweet Eric Monacelli of Naughty Dog, mentioned Extreme Music Collection Library. Maybe start there. I had no luck.

Edit- Found their website: https://www.extrememusic.com/

I wonder why Sony chose to use their music ;p

Extreme Music Library LTD. a division of Sony/ATV Music Publishing

Edit 2- It could be in this section: https://www.extrememusic.com/albums/2683?item=44687

The second track is just recycled from the PS3 game Starhawk.

Edit 3- And the third is Uncharted 2. What?
