Anyone else really on board with Pablo? At first I thought I got played, but then I remembered how much I hated Yeezus. Eventually I came around; Yeezus is an incredible album. Its shitty production values (by conventional standards. I'm sure a lot of work went into it) are itself a message. It can't be perfectly-produced like MBDTF and hit the same way. Black Skinhead sounds like someone turned on a vacuum cleaner, put it in a fridge, and hooked it up to an amp. Super raw and awesome.
I don't like how this album starts. One can say it's a statement, but I don't like hearing people yelling. Too close to home. I'm going to cut that part out. Good on it for making me feel that way. I don't want to feel that way.
Only other part I really hate is the iPhone ringtone in 30 Hours. I use an iPhone so I can't think people are calling me every time I listen to this album. So I edited that part out, even though it's a cool gimmick.
Pablo sounds really cool. I don't give a fuck who Pablo is, I want to make my own interpretations. When I hear No More Parties I feel like Pablo. I think we all feel like Pablo sometimes, when

Feedback is killer. Didn't even notice the lyrics the first 10 times (as is typical for me). The "hands up" call and response is hilarious / sad. And the sound rides the midway point between production (MBDTF) and chaos (Yeezus).
"Ya'll sleepin' on me, hah, had a good snooze? Wakeup ******, wakeup!" is extremely catchy and defiant.
I like Graduation because it's a lot of MBDTF, just less refined in pretty much every way.

Same here. It's like number 5 for me or something. First hip hop album I ever listened to. So much more than the racist shit I heard about rap / hip hop up to that point.

I truly believe with all my heart that this album is this generation's White Album. It's so chaotic & incoherent, but every sound still sounds so perfect. It's Ye's most complete album yet, you wanna constantly listen to it front to back with no skips. It's his damn magnum opus.
I just finished sweding together my own version of The Life of Pablo.
I reorganized the order of the songs, threw in the demo replacements for "I Miss The Old Kanye" and "Wolves", swapped the album art out, replaced 30 Hours' album version with the Soundcloud one, and finally cut out a couple of songs/skits from the album (Freestyle 4, Silver Surfer).
I dig it so much more now. Doesn't hurt that the songs are properly tagged with features now too.

I feel in the long term, this delay will hurt the album's standing in Kanye's discography. Been two weeks and I don't see it getting a wider release anytime soon.

He had a lot of people talking about him when the album was suppose to go live.
I'm all for better masterings of tracks and possibly new ones though.

I really think Hold My Liquor will be one of those songs that's looked upon fondly.
As for Ultralight Beam: The loose, shaky, trembling beat acts alongside the theme of the singer struggling in pain. That sense of triumph when the trumpets come in, is quite heavenly.
