RED ASH Kickstarter crashes n burns (Comcept/Inafune/Hyde making Mega Man Legends 3)

The tech demo got me to pledge. Given the kind of time it probably took to get this together (couple weeks absolute tops) unless they had this in their back pocket for a while...it's pretty decent at showing they understand what made MML special. A combat example as well would have been better but this was enough for me.

Here's why I didn't back until now:
Vague initial pitch (what am I actually backing?)
Concurrent Anime Kickstarter (I just want a game not kickstart a franchise)
Other high profile Kickstarters sapped my big giving money (Reaper Bones 3, Bloodstained)
Conflicting reports on when Mighty Number 9 will be released. (eventually resolved)

If they do go back to the drawing board I hope they can coordinate a better time to push the button and more clearly explain to folks what they'll be getting if the kickstarter is successful.

I don't think they need kickstarter. Inafune will be like surprise!!! my hard work and connections are making the game happen anyway!

Some aspect of the game would have to change in order for that to happen . they said that they want to self publish the prologue and likely they wanted to keep the rights . if they go to a publisher then they won't be able to keep the rights.

Here's a thought. If they really want to mirror what Capcom originally attempted with MML3 (create a prologue demo prototype, try to sell it, see if there's demand), if the Kickstarter fails and they're still committed to pushing this through, maybe they can continue to develop the KalKanon Incident and release it as a Steam Early Access game. It would be a way of meeting fans halfway, with Comcept investing enough to get playable content out, and then fans buying an actual product in development, instead of crowdfunding something they don't fully understand. I have no idea if they can afford it or if they think this would be a good business plan though.

I still think theres a decent chance they'll hit 800k with the hype in the last days.
That said, if they dont.. they will probably hit the 150k mark for the 5 minute anime. And you can be sure that 5 minute anime will serve as their advertisement to try and get more funded.

could work but the market for the game is likely on consoles and there is no early access on the ps4 . that may be the only way to do it because I think that even if they fixed all the problem of this Ks in a second campaign that legends fans wont back it .

Comcept seems to be hoping that the ks will get to its goal and then they can open a paypal .

there are only 4 days left to clear a 300,000 dollar gap in a very anti red ash environment . all data based predictions say that it wont make it .It is time for us to face facts and say goodbye to red ash.

Thought I'd do some fanart in the wake of the hopelessness with this KS. Here's a quick Beck doodle. Might try Call later.

So Red Ash is a go regardless of the KS goal. 8 hour campaign for XBone and PS4 promised, KS money used to further the content of the game

Surprise indeed.

So are they gonna be changing the whole plan for the KS with only 4 days remaining? If that's the case, then good lord...

The Kickstarter campaign is going 100% towards more content! Consider your pledge a contribution to stretch goals from here on out.

Exactly what are those stretch goals? We're sorry to say that will have to wait a little while longer!
Haha. They only have four more days until the Kickstarter ends. How much longer do you have to wait? You can't expect people to give Kickstarter money for a project that's already funded without knowing what the hell it's going towards.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Not surprised at all, guessing Inafune was desperately looking for support when it became obvious things weren't panning out.

The PS4/Xone being included will help, but they need to blast this information from the rooftops to the media if they want a big boost.

the 'unknown' stretch goals, though....I realize they don't have a whole lot of choice in the matter atm, but that's not reassuring, lol.

wait. How is this news supposed to help. Now people will think huh? Already have publisher so why do you need a kickstarter?

Didn't see that one coming. Wow.

Well, grats to those of you that stepped up to make this project happen, even in spite of the poor KS handling. I'm still interested to see if this thing actually gets funded.

Who the hell is Fuze?

"FUZE Entertainment Co., Ltd. is a Chinese digital entertainment company engaged in production of console hardware as well as sales of console games.

FUZE is based around Chinese game industry pioneer Wang Feng, and was co-founded with partners Huawei, NVIDIA, and Microsoft Xbox."

Not sure what they've done, if anything, yet.

But from their linkin profile (https://www.linkedin.com/company/fuze-game-co-ltd-peking): "FUZE is an internet entertainment company that focus on game console designing, developing and gaming operation. The founder & CEO of FUZE was lead of Huawei Mico-console project-"TRON". The main team members are from the most famous IT companies Huawei, NVIDIA and Tencent .
Our goal is to build the best domestic console game brand which brings perfect gaming experience to Chinese players. We're now developing a console product based on Android system, using the NVIDIA chip with full OpenGL 4.4 support, with better GPU performance than Xbox360/PS3. "

So...who knows.

EDIT: Also, their website is still entirely about this console, which was estimated to get a release date around June 2015.

Now that Xbone is confirmed I'm going to back the project. Are the backer rewards still going to remain the same, or are they different now that the game is basically funded? There's only the PC version on the rewards tab. :S
