We've all seen those too many of those "please recommend me a DS game" threads that pop up pretty much three times a week, and we're all a bit sick of them. Not a game for everyone, but for those who appreciate its design ambitions -- in short, to bring everything that made classic PC RPGs great into the modern era -- it's absolutely perfect. I'd have given this a crazy high score if I'd been on the review, but since it was localized by a friend I had to step back and let Andrew Fitch stand up for its honor instead. Still, believe me when I say there's no personal bias about my love for this game; all I did on my daily commute for months was explore the labyrinth of the world tree. I can't wait for the sequel.

It's a collection of a hundred-odd logic puzzles with a beautiful animated story wrapped around them. I did a Ctrl+F on every DS game I once owned (8), every DS game I still own (22), and every DS game I'm looking forward to (17). And it turns out that the only things missing from this awesome, awesome thread fall into one of these categories:

-Games I wouldn't recommend anyway
-Games that I'm sure you would have put in if they had any media released (Dragon Quest VI, Sonic RPG, the third DS Castlevania)
-Some really niche future releases that I'm not even sure I want in the first place
-Ports (mostly Mario 64)
-Games that most of GAF wouldn't care for, although I personally liked them (Big Brain Academy, Magical Starsign)
